Yes, but only one-button style control. Meaning you can play/pause/skip but no volume.

HibyMusic Android and iOS Music Player - Bit-perfect USB Output; Network and Dropbox Streaming

Those views and the "now playing" screen all display tags as ??????. The Folders view displays the file names correctly.

Honestly I don't know of a way to check what character encoding is being used on metadata. However, I haven't had issues with players that use UTF8 as default. EDIT: Ok Playing around with mp3tag, here's an example of an album where metadata just appears as a bunch of ????? characters in HiBy...

There's an "Output" section in the Audio settings where you can enable it, but honestly it seems very bare-bones.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Nothing is broken in my case. The device itself seems to assume some strange decoding settings if you don't have an output connected during playback. I suggest you plug some headphones and restart the device.

Hey Davy can you and the guys from Hiby make up? :frowning2: I would love to have native support for UAPP on my Hiby R5.

I love my Tin P1s on the 4.4mm balanced output. I've never seen IEMs that scale so well depending on the source. It seems the way they are tuned is a love it or hate it affair though.

You can find tutorials on YouTube on how to organize your library for MediaMonkey 4 . Regarding device sync, it can also become quite complex. Ideally you should start with a clean card but otherwise start with the following steps. 1. Make sure you're on the latest firmware. 2. On Android...

There are more than one "sync mode" in MediaMonkey including one that deletes every other media on the device that is not managed by MediaMonkey. This can obviously mess up media that is managed by other applications, specially streaming apps. You can also highly customize your playlists file...

For Android over USB a car needs to support Android Auto. It's the same for iPhones and CarPlay. Typically modern cars come with either one or the other, or they are extras. These are not essential in order to just play music though. You can just use an audio input port or bluetooth, though...

To all of these, yes. Same for Neutron. Nope. Never felt the need to. NOTE: MediaMonkey doesn't support DSD though. So these still need to be synced manually.

I've been using MediaMonkey to manage my music library for years and it's a very powerful piece of software. It works perfectly with Android devices and the Hiby R5 is no exception. Regarding the music player, Hiby Music has come a long way but it still has some serious issues. Personally I...

HibyMusic Android and iOS Music Player - Bit-perfect USB Output; Network and Dropbox Streaming

No. This only happens with Hiby Music. Every other application I use, desktop or mobile, understands every character encoding I've thrown at it. If the the tags are ok for the music stores who sell the music and for every other app I use, then it should also be ok for Hiby Music.

App still has a lot of issues dealing with different character encoding sets. ID tags are displayed as a bunch of "????????" and tracks are out right removed from m3u playlists.

I just wish Hiby Music was better. It still has a lot of trouble handling different character encoding sets in tags and playlists. Sometimes tags just appear on the screen as a bunch of "???????" characters or some tracks are just outright ignored from their original playlists. Fortunately the...

It was on. Actually it was still on when got it out and it can still play music. It seems it's just that the screen simply went dead. I always have it on the silicon case that came with it, and never got any issues with the player until now.

Well, yesterday it seems the screen of my R5 has quit functioning. I had it on my backpack and the player doesn't seem to have any sort of exterior damage. I wonder if something got disconnected inside with movement. Or maybe I left it unlocked and with some random random button presses inside...

I actually have that album from bandcamp and it sounds great. But I'm not audiophile enough to accurately describe the sound to you. Besides, I imagine the headphones/IEMs you'll eventually use make more of a difference than the DAP itself.

Technically that is possible. The biggest hurdle is finding the right cables and/or adapters.

I'm using UAPP and find it strange that the driver is downsampling DSD256 to output around 176kHz. Maybe I have some settings wrong? Also, does the Hiby player show the output sample rate? Also hearing some seriously loud crackling when using "HiRes Direct" driver.
