I have px100 and hd580 and they are very very similar if you exclude the soundstage. The px100 has a little bit more punch so, I'm thinking the 650 could have a closer sound color

I've ripped them off a lot of times and nothing wrong happend.

I have the same experience with my hd580 after switching from hd595. By comparison the highs really sparkle on the hd580. I've also founded that the hd595 had more sub bass, but less mid bass then hd580. Also it had some wired recessed parts in the midrange frequency that made some songs...

Exactly! the 595 has more subbass then 580. The first time I've tried the 580 I've found the highs amost sibilant.. expecting it to sound dark.

Yes, I've found the 595 better in the subbass region but weaker in the upper bass, where a lot more instruments are present. Thats why the 595 seemed better with some electronica songs and 580 with acoustic.

I had both 595 and 580 and my opinion is that the 580 has a better extension in high mid - high area The graphic illustrates exactly what I've heard when I've A/B them.

I've found the hd595 awful for heavy metal and a LOT less brighter then hd580. But I don't have a $1000 source and a $1000 amp.

That's similar to the settings that I use for the Senn HD 595 The max value is at 5 db Don't use the creative eq if you don't set the sampling to 96khz, it sounds horrible otherway
