Thanks for the help. I got everything squared a way and did some serious listening for the past few days. Quote: Originally Posted by koven 4. How much did you pay for yours? Was it the one on Audiogon recently? Apologies about the late reply. I got it for $850 from a local...- Gunblade

Peachtree Audio nova - Help w/setup
Hey Head-Fi, I recently got a great deal on a peachtree audio nova. I currently have my PC plugged in via USB, PS3 plugged in via RCA and my Audioengine A5's plugged into the 'line out'. I am curious whether or not I should be using the line out or the pre out. The manual states: There...- Gunblade

USB DAC+HeadphoneAmp - help & recommendations
Hey Head-fi, I would like to upgrade to a new pair of headphones in the 200-400 dollar price range. The problem being I want a new 'source' for those headphones. Obviously to properly drive the newer headphones I need an amplifier, but with my only source of audio being my PC or laptop. A USB...- Gunblade

I believe the ones that are also headphone amps should be specified. Also does the "GLOW Amp One" tube amp count? It is a DAC as well. I did not see it on the list. Amazing list - I greatly appreciate this thread.- Gunblade

Tekzilla Talks About Headphone Amps
Frankly for the short time given as an overview for headphone amplification/upgrading your PC audio. This was not that great of a segment. I believe it introduced viewers to head-fi and that was it - which is always cool. He didn't explain the gateway of options that DAC's open up for PC...- Gunblade

Upgrade Help (moving on from Klipsch Promedia)
Bump and a new dilemma! Whats the best way to go about having an easy way to plug in my headphones now? The A5's sure don't give me an option. I do have a front-bay for my x-fi sound card I could install. But it isn't exactly the greatest thing in the world. Would that suffice or is there...- Gunblade

Upgrade Help (moving on from Klipsch Promedia)
Those T-Amps are expensive and there are all kinds of different models. And I am worried about...whether or not I could plug in headphones or not. I am a complete new guy at this so I am getting easily confused. The idea of a sound card + speakers was pretty easy to grasp. But I need an amp...- Gunblade

I will try to keep this simple. I have tried figuring this out on my own by browsing other threads but I can't seem to do it. There isn't some over all guide for moving on from Multimedia speakers . So thats why I am asking. It gets pretty confusing. My current set-up (x-fi extreme music +...- Gunblade

Hmm... I will give the Cowon another look than the quick 30-second look. Why better SQ though? And yes. It would be nice to avoid both companys....but I don't hate MS. I <3 windows + office (though I do use linux for just those certain things) & sometimes xbox :P well that and both my...- Gunblade

Alrighty. Now I am leaning more towards the nano than ever before, it's got the size and I hope it's enough space...I have never had an MP3 player really so it should be enough lol. I can use it for the gym and exercising too. The only advantage I am seeing with the larger players is the...- Gunblade
