Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (Headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs)
Thanks Kim. I'll probably get the ****'s and just keep them for different Genres if I don't prefer them to my TF10s. Plus sometimes I like lots of bass with my EDM.- mungbean66

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (Headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs)
Hey guys :) Been reading thread for a little while, looking for a replacement for my 8 year old UE TF10s. Are there any Chinese phones with more resolution? I love micro detail ;) . I'm not a bass head so as long as it has close to TF10 bass I will be happy. I've ordered the Rock Zircon, VJJB...- mungbean66

KOSS ESP-950 Thread
From my experience this is an earthing problem. Have you tried a different power cable on your power supply or double checked it's output and earth connections?- mungbean66

Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
As long as you buy them locally it will come with a 240v to 24v DC wall wart. Otherwise a replacement could be sourced fairly easily through Mouser.- mungbean66

Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
@HiFan, Whats the level of detail retrieval like with the HD650 and the RNHP? Going to be picking the RNHP up for my TH-X00 and a future Focal Elear (when available in Oz) but using a HD650 until I can get my hand on an Elear. Thanks for your observations by the way.- mungbean66

ZMF Ori (Omni) - Upcoming Semi Open Flagship
@Sophonax this is actually a better suggestion if it's only $40. You'd be hard pressed making a cable for this, especially if you don't have access to a soldering iron already.- mungbean66

Complement headphones to the LCD-2 Fazor (other sound signatures)
I have the Fostex TH-X00 and all I can say is that the sound is incredible. Great Lows and Highs and decent mids, fantastic speration for a closed can. Decently priced and they also look great.- mungbean66

ZMF Ori (Omni) - Upcoming Semi Open Flagship
Honestly soldering cable is fairly easy if you wanna give it a go. Watch a few videos online and look at some guides and you'll be fine. Just make sure to use cheaper materials on your first cable so you have practice if you wanna solder a better quality one later on.- mungbean66

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
I found this going from my other sources. Recently got a Aune X1S and it really made this headphone sound amazing. It always sounded great but after the DAC/AMP change out it just had so much more authority and blew my mind.- mungbean66

Hey Vinh, I've ordered these and had no issues. No extra fees and arrived on time undamaged. I'm in Sydney though so if your in the other states I believe it can take a little while longer for postage.- mungbean66

World First! Massdrop x HiFIMAN Collaboration Announcement
Unfortunely these are a dynamic pair not their planars they are famous for. You won't get the same sound unfortunely but if you have a spare $99, then they're worth it.- mungbean66

World First! Massdrop x HiFIMAN Collaboration Announcement
I'm not terribly good with describing sound but I can tell you what instruments changed. I found after the pad change that the difference particularly in Bass and Double Bass was amazing. It added alot more weight to those particular instruments. The effect of drums was that they became more...- mungbean66

I own the HE-300, that came before these and they were great, especially for a first headphone. At $99 you'd be silly not to buy them.- mungbean66

World First! Massdrop x HiFIMAN Collaboration Announcement
Having owned the HE-300 as my first headphone and now also having the TH-X00, I'm really impressed at how cheap this is. At $99 dollars I would suggest this to everyone considering that it is one of, if not the best bang for buck headphone you could get. As long as the sound is close to the...- mungbean66

Shozy Zero IEMs
These look amazing. Gotta love wood on anything. How do these sound with the Alien? Or the Hidizs AP100. Would I find these a side grade to the UE TripleFi10? I know there is a significant price difference but I am keen to try a wood backed iem to see if it sounds anything like my th-x00...- mungbean66

Just a heads up for anyone that like 80s pop with tons of synth. Been listening to Sarah Blasko's new album, Eternal Return and it sounds amazing on these cans. The synth is incredible and her voice suits these very nicely.- mungbean66

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
I would do that (eg. Inquire in other threads). Someone is likely to point you in the right direction. It's not a hard thing to do and any technician or experienced hobbyist will be able to change this easily. I'm going to be doing it myself but only after I get a new soldering iron....
