Why not use digital?
Why do people insist on using $500 precious metal cables that transmit using analog rather than use $20 Toslink cables that use digital signals? The digital signal will not degradate over the cable length, and all you would need at the other end is a A/D convertor, which would probably cost less...- elgoog
