I absolutely love my PM-3 headphones. They're light, easy to drive and sound wonderful for the price. They sound fantastic out of everything I plug them into. Last month, I wore them on flights from Florida to Dublin, Ireland and had no discomfort. They run great through the Hugo and might both...- sweetsdream

Yeah, I can feel the vents but after letting it run all night to help break-in, there is no heat in the area. Eventually, this will be moved to travel in my laptop bag or to my bedside.- sweetsdream

I just got my Hugo 1 hour ago via FedEx and it sounded good as soon as I plugged it in. I can't wait to see how much better it gets. I only have two headphones at my desk right now, LCD-X and Oppo PM-3 and they both sound great through the Hugo. I only have a couple DSD files and they play...- sweetsdream

The voodoo-less cable thread. Reasonable cable vendors and reviews.
I've always been a Monoprice and Bluejeans cable fan and have never had a problem with anything I ordered from them. I would also suggest adding Emotiva to the mix. They have some great options for inexpensive cables that are high quality. I like their power cables and XLR cables from the...- sweetsdream

Audeze LCD-X
I just got my pair of LCD-X last week and have been breaking them in all weekend. I have them in my iMac 5k Roon > McIntosh D150 > WA22 > Black Dragon balanced LCD-X chain and they sound fantastic. I tried them quite a bit at an get together in Orlando and liked them then on my Wa7d / WAtp and...- sweetsdream

Astell & Kern Junior (AK Jr.) Impressions Thread
We actually tried to use the DAC in the HA-2 but couldn't make it work. We ended up using the head out on the AK Jr to the line in on the HA-2 and it sounded really good.- sweetsdream

REVIEW: The Stunning McIntosh D100
Thank You, I pulled the trigger on the D150 and it does exactly what I was hoping it would do. I now have my Airmotivs and sub connected to the variable (XLR) out and my WA22 connected to the fixed (XLR) out. I am very impressed with this setup and it's sounding great so far. I did get to demo...- sweetsdream

New Audeze LCD3
Plastic? The WA7s have solid glass on top. Not sure if there is any plastic and they don't get too hot anyway. I put some NOS Mullards CV4003 in the WAtp and love the sound.- sweetsdream

REVIEW: The Stunning McIntosh D100
Sorry to post on an older thread. I'm considering this or the D150. I have a question about the two sets of outputs. My plan is to use the variable for my powered monitors and control volume on the Mcintosh and fixed output to my Wa22. Are both sets active at the same time or do you switch...- sweetsdream

2015 Central Florida Summer Meet @ LiveSoundWave Impressions
Awesome meet. Those Fostex were a big surprise to me too. I didn't listen to that amp combo but I did listen on my WA7s and they were way better than I thought they would be. Good score! I picked up the LCD-X for a great deal and can't wait for them to come in. The combo that surprised me even... -

DAC with dual XLR pairs
I do prefer XLR out and only need one program or input to work with both sets either by switching or just turning to volume down on the variable side. The cost isn't incredibly important to me, I'll spend what I need and still may look at the Mcintosh if it's the best option.- sweetsdream

I didn't get the Ethers yet but I did get my Fireflies WA7d/tp so I will pack those up tonight. They aren't very broken in yet but I do have electro-harmonic tubes and Mullards in the tp. See you tomorrow.- sweetsdream

DAC with dual XLR pairs
I like to listen to my music through speakers sometimes and headphones other times. My current setup is an Emotiva DC-1 with an XLR splitter, one side feeding a Woo WA22 and the other through a Emotiva Control Freak then on to my powered monitors. I have the volume on the DC-1 set to fixed and I...- sweetsdream

Woo Audio WA2 and WA22 Comparisons...finally finished...whew.
Here's a quick and dirty picture. I also got WA7d/tp setup but haven't even hooked them up yet. I use Roon for music on my iMac (I'm listening to An Evening with Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea Live) and it sounds amazing already. I've only had it on for about 10hrs so far. I use an Emotiva...- sweetsdream

Woo Audio WA2 and WA22 Comparisons...finally finished...whew.
FedEx tells me that my WA22 will be here tomorrow. I'm so excited to try it out. I got all the upgraded tubes on the Woo Audio site and can't wait to set it up. I will have an Emotiva DC-1 feeding a balanced single to it and I have 4 PIN headphone connectors for my PM-3 and Mr Speaker Ethers...- sweetsdream
