The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote
Touch scroll wheel only works well with inertial scroll, which is implemented by software/firmware. Let's see, hopefully Fiio will do right with the firmware as well. Also, I would like a higher output power to drive bigger cans...- dsouza

The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote
The page at http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/FiioX1 seems to have more updated information. I mean, if you look at the end of this web page, there is a table, and there are recently added links (June 5h) with bin files containing the bootloader code. Hopefully this is a sign that the...- dsouza

Official X1 stable firmware discussion thread--version 2.0: Added library search function, Recently Played playlist, ReplayGain
I just noticed that the first post in this thread was updated to announce firmware update 2.0 for the X1! Perhaps the title of this topic should be updated to "Official X1 stable firmware discussion thread--version 2.0"... BTW, some *bad news*: the X1 firmware will not be updated... -
Official FiiO X1 beta firmware download and discussion thread--FW1.61: added ReplayGain, and library search function
Yes, but nothing as sophisticated as iPod (inertial scrolling). Just a simple trigger that, let's say, if the scroll wheel is scrolling for 2 seconds or more, then automatically start the alphabet scrolling... -
Official FiiO X1 beta firmware download and discussion thread--FW1.61: added ReplayGain, and library search function
I wish that the scroll speed could automatically switch to "by letter" scrolling, without having to long-press any button. I mean, if I scroll fast, then the letters menu would open automatically... -

This could be a future new option Fiio could add about configuring how the player shows the album covers. I see at least two options: 1) Cropped cover (current implementation) 2) Full cover (adding black bars as needed)- dsouza

Maybe this phantom track could be some file that the player is not able to read (such as a .flac file with some corrupt data in it)?- dsouza

At least for me it was a "Reset All Settings" (and only this) that solved some library issues I had with the A15.- dsouza

SONY NWZ-A10 Series
I had an issue with the library of my A17. While it was playing the musics fine, all musics were missing the play time while browsing the library (--:--). I tried multiple things without success. The only thing that solved this issue was a factory reset.- dsouza

Sony Walkman NWZ-A17
Personally I value more a well recorded and well mastered album (in 44/16), with good dynamic range and no dynamic range compression than the so called mumbo-jumbo "hi-res" audio. Many of the "hi-res" albums were remastered (with a much more conservative dynamic range compression), and...- dsouza

Well, I also have the Ostry KC06A and I can hear a low hiss with A15 when not playing music. Either Sony improved this in A25 (which would be awesome news!) or our ears have different sensitivity (more likely... :)).- dsouza

Official FiiO X1 beta firmware download and discussion thread--FW1.61: added ReplayGain, and library search function
Yes, definitively there is the need of a solution for faster navigation. While the new "Long press option to search by letter" is a great improvement, there are still room for further improvements. Some suggestions: 1. Scrolling is faster when the scroll wheel is rotated faster (your... -

SONY NWZ-A10 Series
I have both Sony A15 and Fiio X1. The A15 wins in terms of user interface, battery and smaller size, while having an excellent audio quality. However, in terms of audio quality and power output, I consider X1 superior (so this logic could be extended do X3 and X5). A15 is an...- dsouza

SONY NWZ-A10 Series
Yep, as explained above, the only difference between A15/A16/A17 is the internal storage capacity. Despite this, there is a separate thread for the A17 (http://www.head-fi.org/t/751318/sony-walkman-nwz-a17). Ideally that thread should be merged into this one...- dsouza

Official FiiO X1 beta firmware download and discussion thread--FW1.61: added ReplayGain, and library search function
Yep. However notice that the album diff is bigger. Foobar calculated +0.62 (positive) while AIMP3 calcualted -0.60 (negative), so the actual difference is 1.22 dB for the Album. For other tracks the difference was more than 2 dB for a given track. Anyway, not a big deal if the... -
Official FiiO X1 beta firmware download and discussion thread--FW1.61: added ReplayGain, and library search function
Just an update: in fact the algorithms used by Foobar and AIMP3 to calculate the replaygain are producing different results (see below). Personally I prefer AIMP3 for many reasons (I believe it is a very good player), but at this point I am not sure which one (AIMP or Foobar) to trust... -

Well, at the end it is actually working. Let me explain: I had the expectation that the quiet albums would become louder, but in fact the louder albums became more quiet... The example I used above had almost no change in the loudness (it was from a low volume album). But I have... -
