If you are gentle you can peel off the peeling leather as I did, the inner foam still has a fabric cover so you can very gently rub off all the dry, flakey leather and you can end up with a real nice very dark grey fabric finish.

A second hand Marantz HD-Dac1 would be a decent option.

Just be careful you are not being played. Usually if something is too good to be true it is because it is. I've been there, as will many others on this thread no doubt. Great headphones but Buyer Beware, do your due diligence on the seller before you part with your money. £100 is a steal.

I use them and they're great, really comfortable and the sound is fine.

I've done that now thanks. The unit is second/third hand and otherwise works fine so I wouldn't ship away for repair. I can live with it if I have to but would be hopeful that a factory reset might sort it.

USB C, Lightning, presume USB Micro B also an option for other android devices. I wonder if it gets over/around android resolution cap which sometimes gets in the way, for example when playing Amazon Music HD.

I have one of these for sale (mint), see earlier in thread. I bought a switch to add to the DC input line so I can toggle on and off the power (otherwise it does have lights on / blink / look for Bluetooth pairing all the time.
