Need simple USB -> SPDIF device that supports 44.1khz bit-perfect output

Need simple USB -> SPDIF device that supports 44.1khz bit-perfect output
I have both the UA202 and the M-Audio Transit. The Transit has has some of the worst jitter performance I've ever seen published, so only use it with a jitterbug. It was undeeed picky about drivers and compatability, its an old old device now Surprised the UA202 isn't working for you. I've used...- DDF

Anyone using Arcam irDAC & what do you think of it?
I have the ustreamer and the irdac. ustreamer is very bright and in your face/congested in comparison to the irdac. I agree with the characterization of the irdac as "calm". It also has great resolution of spatial details and sounds "open", and is in my system conveys texture excellently...- DDF

usb conditioners a growing field....anyone else get confused by terms and claims?
By far the best usb treament is to isolate the ground between the source (eg pc), and the dac. Cleaning power and reclocking are nice, but are an order of magnitude less effective than true isolation, including the ground. The ground is a power supply feed as well. Isolation comes in several...- DDF

Android: Neutron Music Player
I gave Neutron another shot. Updated theTwonky definitions.xml on my MyBook Live NAS to ensure it supported folder view sorted by by track number. https://community.wd.com/t/twonky-sorting-music-in-folder-mode-still/57163/2 Neutron sorted tracks in folders in correct order, as did...- DDF

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
I did contact them but they had no intent to resolve. A bit surprising given the ubiquity of the MyBookLive. In the end its only 10 bucks- DDF

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
It was $10 down the hole for me. It won't play tracks in track order (defaults to alphabetic) when playing from DLNA server (MybookLive), even when the server is properly configged. Every other (free) player picks up the config file properly. UAPP was really disappointing and misleading...- DDF

Sonarworks Headphone Calibration software
Spent a couple hours with the trial on SRH-840s, a few findings. For reference, main system at home is 2 way + sub, 2 ways custom designed, better than +/-1dB on axis, and sub digs to 25 Hz flat, all set up and in room for nuetrality, with MLLSA - bit challenging to install on foobar, a...- DDF

USB To Optical
A transformer coupled usb output made a significant obvious improvement in sq in my system. Its breaks the ground path from the noisy nasty pc switching supply and the dac. This wasnt tweako, but obvious- DDF

Android, DLNA (Twonky) and USB Audio Player Integration
The development team confirmed that the app isn't reading the xml files twonky uses to set up the configuration. So, unfortunately, the USB Audio Player Pro isn't compatible playing via dlna off the WD MybookLive as it doesn't retain the proper track order. This may impact other home NAS...- DDF

Android, DLNA (Twonky) and USB Audio Player Integration
It's probably a compatibility issue with USB Audio Player Pro and the NAS. Every other android app that has dlna access and all my other hardware plays by track number except when playing through USB Audio Player Pro. I'm using a mybook live which is very common.- DDF

Follow up: I remember there was a change I had to make to my server so that all DLNA devices played from the server using file name order, or at least track number order in metadata. All my devices (2 TVs, HT receiver, Android phone and Android tablet running Bubbleupnp or WD my cloud app)...- DDF

Android, DLNA (Twonky) and USB Audio Player Integration
Gave it a shot and two problems which makes it unusable for playing from DLNA: 1. Using folder mode (to navigate a large and varied music collection), it orders tracks in alphabetical order based on the tag instead of by the file name, making it unusable for listening to full cds 2. File...- DDF

USB Audio noise on iMac
Is the mac 3rd Gen actually cord? If so, it's a group discussion loop. The noise affects USB timing and interface noise. On mine, it was a swoosh in like waves as well. The USB isolator fixed it. Cutting ground wires on the USB didn't.- DDF
