Not exactly headfi stuff, but I was wondering if I could use my go-vibe to drive my powered multimedia speakers through my notebook's headphone out. Will there be any problems, like if the go-vibe is only designed for headphone use? I'm afraid to try it in case it burns out the amp or something.

As I understand it, what an amp does is to allow music to play at loud volumes without any distortion and to provide the power to drive high ohm headphones. If all my headphones are easy to drive and I listen at low volumes, doesn't that mean I have no use for an amp?

Just wondering what are the good circumaurals at this price range. Most cans that I've come across are all supraaurals, like Grados or AKG. I'm looking for a pair that'll be comfy for home use as I can't stand wearing supraaural headphones for a long period of time.
