I have both, they sound very very CLOSE (on balance), at least to my ears. Only some tracks/albums that I have, brings out the gap favouring the WM1A.

I am not using the earloop style as I find my glass frame in it's way. I am using the smallest silicon tip that comes with it.

I have both too... for longer listening - i prefer the N3 and Z5 is when i want to fully enjoy the music. i know, it sounds stupid - since the N3 is almost as good as the Z5, but i have small ear canal, my ear aches after a prolonged listening on the Z5.

do they (DSD) sound warmer? I do find it a tad warmer and less bright on DSD. but then again, maybe i dont have the best ears :P
