    Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3

This seemed to be the case when I was using a cheaper, less powerful amp.

The only ones I've tried that had decent sound quality in that price range were the Ausdom M05 aka the Meelectronics Air-fi Matrix2.

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

You might already know this by now, given your listening impressions that you shared in a later post, but the Nexus 6P does actually support aptX.

FYI, if you upgrade to Windows 10, the Azio dongle will support aptX without the horrible CSR software. I was quite pleased when I discovered this.

Here's my post with initial impressions from a while back. I ended up returning them for the reasons given.

Was it accurate? None of the headphones I've used with that feature were even remotely accurate when it came to displaying the actual battery level. I had assumed it was a bug in Android, and that's why more headphones don't support it.

True, but that's on the headphones, not on Android. I was talking about the battery level indicator that shows up for some headphones in the notification bar.

The BackBeat Pro sounds much better to my ears. Not even the same league.

    Sony MDR1-ABT Impressions

That's really weird. I just fired up my old Verizon S3 that I keep around as a backup. My 1ABT flashes blue 3 times when playing music. There might be a system update that I haven't installed yet, since it's been off for quite a while (currently running Android 4.4.2). That might explain the...

    Sony MDR1-ABT Impressions

Weird. It must not be using aptX then. Odd, because I used to have the S3 and aptX worked on it. Are you running a custom ROM by chance? Cyanogen mod didn't support aptX the last time I tried (years ago).

    Sony MDR1-ABT Impressions

There are no settings for it unless you have a Sony player I think. As far as I know, it always flashes blue twice at regular intervals when connected, but once you start playing audio it begins flashing blue three times quickly when connected via aptX.

It's automatic on the headphones. You have to configure it on the device if available.

I have probably watched hundreds of YouTube videos on my tablet since getting them, and I haven't noticed any latency issues. I'm not overly sensitive to it, but I have noticed it with other Bluetooth headphones. The Bluetooth connection on the AE2 seems to be rock solid in my experience. It...

I've been auditioning the Bose SoundLink Around-Ear II (AE2) for the past couple weeks, and here are my impressions: Very light and very comfortable. My only quibble with the comfort is that the plastic housing on the back of the inner ear cup projects out on both ears, which comes into contact...

I would suggest trying out the MDR1ABT, but you said you don't like the design. I'm about to post my comparison between them and the Bose SoundLink II. If you are looking for an emphasis on bass, you'd prefer the sound of the 1ABT I think, but it's really a matter of what you value more: a...

The Sony ear pads might be slightly bigger, but they are not replaceable like the Air-fi. I significantly preferred the sound of the Matrix2 over the 10RBT. The Sony sounded muffled and congested in comparison. I think the Sony set looks much better, but the Matrix2 sounds much better. The...

It depends what sound signature you prefer. The Bose headphones lean more toward neutral, and from what I've read, the Sennheisers have more of a focus on bass. I'm trying out the Bose set right now, and I like them quite a bit. Still not sure whether I like them better than the Sony MDR1ABT though.

    Sony MDR1-ABT Impressions

Are you using the 3.5mm cable that came with the headphones? I tried using another cable and it didn't fit all the way into the 1ABT jack, which caused it to sound really bad.

Here are my initial impressions of the V-Moda Crossfade Wireless (CFW).   It sounds pretty darn good plugged in. Slightly V-shaped. Connected via Bluetooth it sounds dark, smoothed over, compressed. Treble lacks a bit of the sparkle it has while plugged in. Makes FLAC files sound like...

It's a common bluetooth complaint. I hear the hiss on the CFW too, but I don't seem to notice it on headphones I've tried that support aptX.

You should know that every set of bluetooth headphones that I've tried to pair with the PS4 have failed to work. I always get a no supported profile error.

I had assumed they just extended the expiration date for the vouchers issued earlier. I placed an order a couple days ago and haven't received a voucher either (but I wasn't expecting to receive one since the pre-sale already ended).

V-MODA CROSSFADE WIRELESS: Exclusive Preview, Videos, Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

In my experience, there are non-aptX codecs that are nearly indistinguishable from aptX (to my ears). The lack of insight into the codecs used for each connection makes it difficult to determine which is which. However, my MDR-1ABT sounds just as good when connected to my Surface Pro 3 (which...
