Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
I bought these last month and they are absolutely terrific. But they really come alive with the EQ app HF Player by Onkyo, as someone had previously mentioned. I returned the beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 32 Ohm that I purchased first. Can’t believe they sound this good AND have the option of using...- Mcgeggy

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
So I just got the M&O (HP-2) Beryllium acoustic today. I also decided to go with the Dragonfly Red. Onkyo player app on my iphone 6s. Very nice combo, especially with the EQ options now. Looking forward to an improved listening experience! I haven't tried the M&O with BT yet, but other than the...- Mcgeggy

iPhone 6s- cable to dac/amp question
Thanks for the responses. From what I can tell, even the “made for (apple device )” dac/amps still require the Apple cck to be used ( at least the better ones do). I guess it doesn’t make sense to compromise on the unit for the sake of a $30 cable. I can actually remove the section that plugs...- Mcgeggy

iPhone 6s- cable to dac/amp question
I have an iPhone 6s and I would like to add a dac/amp (looking at the Nano iDSD BL) to my setup. But I use one of those wireless charging cases that plugs into the lightening connector port, and then has a micro USB port at the bottom instead. So I was wondering if I would be able to use the...- Mcgeggy

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
I’m currently using iPhone 6s (128gb) as my dap. I like it because I can switch easily from Pandora to my music library, plus still have access to calls/texts. I also have a Sony A17 and Fiio E12a Monte Blanc. For some reason I don’t like what this combo does to metal. I do like ip6s into E12a...- Mcgeggy

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
The M&O version are apparently the only option for awhile, according to email response from I got from RBH on when theirs would be available again: Hello, Right now it isn't clear on whether we will be simply restocking or redesigning. Either way, we likely won't have inventory until summer...- Mcgeggy

RBH - HP-2 ULTRALIGHT BERYLLIUM HEADPHONES
Does anyone know how the BT version from M&O sounds straight out of an iPhone 6s using BT? I know the AptX codec is not used in this phone.- Mcgeggy

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
Are these the ultimate generic no-name headphones then, lol? There doesn't seem to be any brand or model #. I love the idea of something that is both wired and BT. Where can I find other reviews for this?- Mcgeggy

These piqued my interest too, but they don't seem to be available anywhere. I got excited for a sec because they are listed at $139 with free shipping on the RBH website, but then underneath there is the dreaded "Out of Stock"...- Mcgeggy

Oh, well that sucks. So I guess I should stick with what I have and just double amp if I find a particular headphone to be lacking in volume then?- Mcgeggy

iPhone 6s Sound Quality
I am trying to figure out how to get the most out of my newly acquired iPhone 6s 128gb (still running ios 10.3). I recently picked up beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 32 Ohm and found them not to be loud enough plugged into the headphone jack. They sound better if I use my FiiO E12A Mont Blanc, but it...- Mcgeggy

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
Can I get a few recommendations for a decent closed headphone within the following parameters? Music style: industrial/melodic/death metal (Godflesh, In Flames, Disarmonia Mundi, Red Harvest, Meshuggah) Source: iPhone 6s (CD library ripped into .m4a and Pandora Radio) Price range: $80 -$150...- Mcgeggy

I can tell you that I found the 400 to be too loose. The 200 were snug enough to not want to fall off but not so tight that it was a difficult struggle to put them on the nozzle. Never had the 100's.- Mcgeggy

(NEW) FiiO E12A for IEMs!
I just got my E12A yesterday! Ordered from a place called AC Gears, after a week of "Order Processing" I find out that it was a drop ship order supposed to come from Fiio, who apparently did not have any to ship... Cancelled and reordered from Amazon, then a few hours later I see an E12A in the...- Mcgeggy

Thanks for the quick reply. I did see their website, but they only show GBP price. I've never bought anything in a foreign currency, so I don't know if my credit card would hit me up with some kind of transaction fee. Shipping would probably take a lot longer too... Reading up about these and so far they "sound" very impressive! I was going to order from Amazon, but I've read some very recent reviews from Amazon that say some buyers receive the older ones that only have two filters and no mic, and some have gotten the newer version that included the three...- Mcgeggy
