Need a good pair of headphones, budget- £250!!!!! :)
Definitely agree with the 650, I've got that and the 598. They are in a different class, even when driving directly from my phone. To reach their full potential it's worth considering amping though- Tom21

Help Needed
I'm looking for an open pair of headphones to upgrade from my M50Xs, I'm buying in the UK and I'd put my budget around £200 ($310). I've looked at the HD600 and HD650 quite extensively but they're just out of my budget plus I don't think it'll stretch to cover an amp too. At the moment I'm...- Tom21

Which is best for metal music?
The Shure SRH 840s are supposed to be good for metal, theres a whole thread on this site dedicated to metal headphones. I myself love the M50X for metal- Tom21

Audio-Technica M50x... disappointment
I found that my M50Xs have sounded a lot better the more I've used them, I'm not sure if this is due to 'burning in' or just me becoming more used to the sound signature so it might be worth giving them some time. I'm a fairly big metal fan myself, what sorta stuff are you listening to?- Tom21

Upgrade from Phillips CitiScape Uptown
The M50Xs are very comfortable for extended periods, albeit a little sweaty. They do leak a little, but I've only found this to be the case at higher volumes. They also isolate excellently- Tom21

Sony MDR 7506 vs. Audio Technica ATH M50x
I've never used the Sonys but the M50Xs are very good value, they are very comfortable and built well enough to last a fews bumps and drops, although at high volumes they do leak slightly so I wouldn't use them somewhere like a library for example- Tom21

Advise me good over-ear headphones for ~250$
I've just recently got the M50X's, and I'm very pleased with them. They will suit you in terms of the electronic music, but maybe not so much the alternative rock - the bass is nice and powerful but the mids might be a little recessed for your taste- Tom21

Looking for good over-ear headphones for less than $50
The Monoprice headphones are excellent value for the price, I've had mine around 3 years and absolutely love them, only downside is their styling - I wouldn't wear them in public!- Tom21

Audio Technica ATH-M50X vs Shure SRH 840 (or other recommendations)
I'm looking for a pair of headphones that cost roughly £100 in the UK (~$150). I've mainly been looking at the headphones I mentioned in the title. I listen to a lot of metal and rock (Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Motley Crue, Black Sabbath, 30 Seconds to Mars, Foo Fighters, Dream Theater, 5...- Tom21
