The good thing about the EL8 is the big over ear cups. I find my ears cramped inside the PM series, I am not sure about the PM3. I tried the PM2, and really wanted a bigger cups. From the images it appears that PM3 got a slightly bigger cups but I am not sure.

I can't believe that there is no single professional review is available yet!   If you come across any review, please share. 

Do u believe that an open headphone sounds the same as closed ones? If it is only ISOLATION, so why we don't go with the closed back = same as open and perfect isolation?   Come on!

I am not sure why members on this thread are comparing CLOSED to OPEN phones?!! Totally different sonics, totally different applications, totally different in every single aspect.  

I just don't understand how this is happening after generations of inventing cables! 

My plan is to take the EL8 with me while traveling, now I am gonna be worried all the time about the connectors issue :(

I will :)   But keep in mind that the Oppo Ha-1 is a revealing amp. Some customers find it bright, so it is up to your taste.    I decided to get Burr Brown Conductor, this is due to the warm reputation of this DAC. 

I think it is better not to judge the Conductor based on random comments on this thread.    I will wait to get my Conductor and test it by myself.    I am planning to use the Conductor to drive LCD3, EL8 and V-moda M100.    As mentioned before in a previous comment, I own a $4500 Amp/Dac that...

I assume that the new EL8 will not be a good match with the virtuoso. This is because the EL8 is a sensitive headphone.  I will wait to test it by myself. 

I expecting mine to come soon, I hope to have positive experience with it. 

I will wait to get my hands on the Conductor before making my final judgement. 

WOW! I am kinda shocked, how come Burson allowed to pass this model with noise level? Do u hear it with quite music? do u hear it when there is no music?

Did you contact Burson? Why you didn't return it back?   Burson must say something about this issue ASAP. I am wondering if they are still monitoring this thread. 

I didn't receive my Burson yet, so I can not talk about the noise issue.    Let me tell you this, I have a $4500 Dac/Amp. This amp considered as one of the best, it generates noise at the last quarter of volume level.  If the Conductor will act in the same way, then it is normal. 

NO!   I asked them about the new treatment, they said that this is a special kind of treatment. 

I contacted Audeze regarding the darker wood, they said that images of darker EL8 belong to the prototype version. The prototype's wood were treated differently from the final production version. 

Now I have to live the rest of my life with concerns about my LCD3 sound quality. I have no access to any other LCD3 for comparison :(
