The Fiio X5 Thread
From what I understand the new (beta) firmware was put together to address the file limitation when browsing "all songs". I believe the most recent "official" firmware (2.2) has playlist support. I don't believe anything has been done to address the scroll wheel speed... but agree that it's...- burnsy1

Good tip... I've tried to alleviate it by placing my finger at about the 5 o'clock position and then pulling down to 6..but still kind of a pain...- burnsy1

Fiio X5 - Custom/Modded firmwares
Good to see I'm not alone... my chest literally tightens up in frustration whenever I go to use it. I nearly just sent it back thinking I'd give the dx90 a try... but I'm trying to suffer through it.- burnsy1

Fiio X5 - Custom/Modded firmwares
Hello Everyone, I just received my x5 this week, and while I really enjoy the sound the scroll wheel is driving me insane. Not because of the orientation or direction... but when I'm navigating the main menu icons (system settings, play settings, etc) I feel like I've got to have surgeon...- burnsy1

ditch audigy 2 in favor of onboard sound
Hello all, I just installed a new motherboard that has integrated audio: Realtek. It has a digital out on it. I had been using the audigy 2 connected to an old pioneer amp hooked up to a pair of b&w bookshelves. I have the option now of either continuing to do that...or hook up an onkyo...- burnsy1

Anyone got an AudioLineOut line-out?
I just gone mine in the mail. Unfortunately I dont have much to compare it to as it is my first line out. It's a Bling Bling "One of a kind" I suppose I would call it the Bling Bling "Mini"- burnsy1

Ipod line out dock and remote connection at the same time?
I remember reading somewhere that the dock port on the 5g had pins for both a standard line out and a variable (headphone) out. So I'm pretty sure the 2 would utilize different pins. If its easy to get in to the actual dock housing on an alo, and if I had the spare pins to insert in to the... -
Ipod line out dock and remote connection at the same time?
I've ordered a little dot micro+ for my Ipod 5g. Im looking at alo docks for it but I also have the ipod radio(fmtuner) remote. If at all possible it would be nice to still have the remote connected. That way I could have the ipod and amp in my bag while still skipping through tracks with the...- burnsy1

Gain version for Little Dot Micro+
So I think im going to give this little amp a shot, it will be my first headphone amp. I'm not sure which "gain" version I should ask for as I'm a bit of a noob. I'll mostly be using the Altec IM716's in HD mode. I understand the impedance is different depending on the mode and don't know...- burnsy1

For those that care, I found a few sites that outline the hardware differences between the different generations. http://www.commsdesign.com/design_co...leID=177105035 http://ipodlinux.org/Generations I may be wrong, but it appears that the headphone output, or driver, is actually part...- burnsy1

both ipods are "stock" I can't offer a whole lot of detail on the new 5.5g. My understanding is that its the newest Ipod but it seems the only notable difference is that the 5.5g is available with larger hard drives and has a newer firmware, otherwise it smells the same to me. Perhaps someone...- burnsy1
