Beyer DT770 Pro/ 80 Detachable cable MOD
Hmmm ok, if I'm able to find a 3.5mm chassis in stores somewhere I'll use it, but if all else fails I'll just buy the socket at radio shack. Does the cable I use to connect my source to my headphones matter too much?- carb0n67

Ohmic values
Mainly my iPhone 5s and laptop. Yeah I've read a lot of people say that the 770s without an amp don't do it justice. Are there small/portable amps meant for small devices like an iPhone that are fairly cheap? If so I wouldn't mind purchasing a 250 ohm version of the 770 and purchasing an amp.- carb0n67

Ohmic values
Thanks for the reply. Have you any experience with headphones with 80 ohm resistors? As I said I'm looking into the 770's and the most common ones I see are the 80 ohms, and am wondering if they'll be loud enough without an amp to drown out say background noise in a cafe.- carb0n67

Ohmic values
Can someone briefly explain to me the difference in ohmic values and how they affect headphones? Thinking about buying some dt 770's, and trying to understand the difference between the 80 ohm vs 250 ohms.- carb0n67

recommendations for headphones (100-150$ range)
I'm in the same boat as you, and have taken an interest into beyerdynamic's custom one pros. I don't know if you've checked them out yet, but from what I've read they sound very similar to the m50, but also you can buy detachable cable that allows you to use a mic as well. It's around $150 on...- carb0n67

Looking for comfortable and high isolation headphone ~$150
Hi. I'm new to the whole headphone scene, and am looking to purchase a pair of closed headphones. I was initially looking at the m50's, but someone recommended the beyerdynamic custom one pros to me. They're a bit pricey for me, but I'm ok with buying a used pair. Before buying anything though...- carb0n67
