Sennheiser HD820
As this is a niche-niche market, for which they had to do all the development, the extra is justified.- Audiotic

Sennheiser HD820
First experience with the Dekoni Hybrids on the HD820: very comfortable, more than the original ones. Plus the headphones sit better on my head. The positioning issue is gone! They always immediately sit well now. They are a bit thicker, which may be part of the reason they always sit snug...- Audiotic

Would the Dekoni pads do the trick? https://dekoniaudio.com/product/dekoni-audio-epz-hd800-hyb-elite-hybrid-ear-pads-for-sennheiser-hd800-headphones/ Seems they work for the 820 as well. Anyone having experience with Dekoni?- Audiotic

Love to here your comparison. I compared mine (just above 500...) to the LCD. And the nasality, noticed that to, bit goes away if pressed a bit to the head, so must be sound leakage. I will try some alt headpads at the West German Hifi in September, guess they’ll have some. I hope.- Audiotic

A short review of HD820 vs Audeze LCD-XC's
On another thread I wrote a counter review, comparing the Audeze LCD-X with the HD 820. I own both. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/sennheiser-hd820.846244/page-117#post-14356021- Audiotic

I noticed yesterday that the impact of the earpads on the sound, and then the nasality in particular, is quite large. When I press the headphones a bit onto my head (sideways) so there is no more gap or imperfect fit, the sound improves, the residual nasality is gone. This would actually be...- Audiotic

In this market niche, price is subjective, next to the high investment costs of Sennheiser for a likely small market. These costs will have to be returned, but over a smaller number of headphones. So, it does make sense to me, this is how business works.- Audiotic

Very good response! And mind you, this is a niche niche market, where only those with the needs as described go. These people are more likely willing to shell out the 2400. As it satisfies their needs. And as this is truly high-end we’re talking about, this audience will either just have the...- Audiotic

I second that. I used to have the 800, now I am one of the early people actually owning the 820. And I prefer the soundstage of the 820. Yes, narrower, but the 800 was, for me, artificially wide. Also the sound balance is more even. The more I listen to it, the more I appreciate it. And no, it...- Audiotic

OK, after a night “burn in” of Genelex russian tuben on my Mjolnir 2, here my opinion on these. Compared To the 1962 Philips Miniwatt NOS. Tested with hi-res version of tubular bells - upsampled to double DSD (“because I can”). Significantly warmer. Which is a good match with my HD 820. The...- Audiotic

Headphone amp for sennheiser hd 800s.
Same question, but price range up to 3k. Looking for experience! What has been the best headphone amplifier match for the Sennheiser HD 800(S) in your opinion? I actually have the HD820, but I am sure no experience here can already be found. I make an educated guess that the best for the 800(S)...- Audiotic

You asked for it, so here I go. Mind you, this is my personal opinion, purely mine! Yes they are...- Audiotic
