No, not any more.  Firmware is great and the player always works for me.

Thankfully no battery issues here and enjoying FW1.5.8 with no problems at all to report. I am two hours into listening from a full charge and on 83% power remaining.

Windows update is fine and DX80 still connects.   I find the USB cable used makes a big difference as to whether the device connects or not, I recommend Anker cables which always seem to work.

This may also be an issue with Windows 10 upgrades.  It happened to me before and I rolled back the version.  Windows updated itself tonight so I will check if I now have the same issue.

Then this could be the Backlight Off setting which is within the Power Management section I mentioned.

Regarding unit turning itself off - when upgrading firmware and doing a factory reset it resets the power management timings. So worth changing this back to your preference.

That does seem some of your headphones are picking up the radio station rather than the player. I have even had metal lamps that radio could be heard from years ago. It should not be your player as there is no aerial or circuit to conduct the radio signal.

It sounds more likely to be your headphones than the player picking up a radio signal.  Have you tried with a range of headphones?

No battery problem for me. Unit is lasting over ten hours easily, poasibly much more if I checked. I am playing highest quality MP3s about 5-7 hours 3-4 times a week.

I can vouch for MediaMonkey - I have used it for years and find it very good.

Maybe also check Cayin N5. I enjoy my DX80 and new firmware (custom version) is very fast.

I use my DX80 with two 128gb cards containing over 17K files at highest quality MP3 including album art and works perfectly on latest firmware. Plenty of room left on the cards to fill.

1.5.2 is working perfectly apart from when I reboot the player after a shutdown it loses the track I was playing and goes back to the grey tree looking cover and blank track. The power does seem to go down more quickly but still fine.

Yes mine are 500x500 file size optimised JPEGs so it wasn't that for me.   It was finding rogue files with crap inside the tags.

Update on FW 1.5.2 - I have discovered the issue for files not being added to the DX80 and then locking any directories after that being added manually.   The issue (for me) relates to files I have that I didn't rip or download from such as Amazon and other services, things shared to me over...

For directory browsing, I always create my filenames with track number - artist - title so then using a two digit track number, it plays in the right order.  I had this issue since the original MP3 era on various players.

Hi, until the player works with all my files I will not try it for listening. If it doesn't work I will have to stay on FW 1.3.3 so the sound of the new FW then will not matter. I hope I can sort it over the weekend. Thanks.
