SONY NW-ZX500
ZX500‘s sound adjustment is now a standalone app, and in DSD setting in the walkman player app have no native option now, the sound adjustment app has a Direct selector for playing directly from all source without any DSP. So they had the magic tricks now.- musicdragoon

SONY NW-ZX500
Seems sony had enhanced the sound enhancement application in ZX500, as it can apply to all apps running in ZX500 and effective to both wired phone jacks. And sony is pure digital source to digital amp signal processing, maybe that’s why they can do it.- musicdragoon

Thanks ac67, seems oratory’s setting gives more frequency balance, while the JP setting is more engaging (or boosted?). Saved both anyway ;)- musicdragoon

SONY NW-ZX500
Thanks for the reference :L3000: oratory1990 But, oh, these parameters are not so applicable in the walkman EQ with fixed frequency bands. And I found my previous EQ actually sourced from this JP site, its not specific for walkman but suitable for 10 bands EQ similar to that in walkman. 10...- musicdragoon

I tried on my ZX507 and it did gives good recording source a more forward and bright sounding. You may have a try, just set these value from left to right. +2 +5 +8.5 +6...- musicdragoon

I also upgraded to ZX507 from ZX300, still in burn in stage around 100+ hrs, but really feel its a step up to around the same level as WM1A :L3000: This guy support PD3.0, so you can easily fully charge it on the go in around 2 hrs :) Found in Sony CN that actually the Caps in ZX500 had been...- musicdragoon

SONY IER-Z1R
They do have the kimber kable as official upgrade, so the stock one may still have some reservations, as you can see they are still a bit thin with an extra layer of silk shield. But many other IEM makers also reserved better cables as upgrade options to their flagship IEMs. Anyway, for...- musicdragoon

SONY IER-Z1R
Got my IER Z1R at Tokyo. A bit suprise mine’s serial is still under 1000. The V or U shape sound maybe caused by the stock cable. I switched to my nobunaga silver / copper hybrid cable does changed the sound more balanced and a bit more suited to my taste. This bad boy seems have some...- musicdragoon

SONY IER-Z1R
I think Solaris sounds like an Just ear tuned Atlas, with warmth mids, punchy bass, and good detailed trebles, not bad at all, but it missed the holographic sound stage from Andromeda which I am still enjoy them so much. IER Z1R is something with so airy and huge sound stage, comes with...- musicdragoon

Auditioned it again in a local AV show in previous weekend, with my ZX300 and 4.4 cable it beats Solaris easily. But Sony Hong Kong staff told me they had production issue with Z1R, it officially delay until 2019, so still put it on my wanted list:beyersmile:- musicdragoon

Actually they have the whole set of stock ear tips for you to try your best fit to audition the Z1R at the show, and maybe I already get used to an heavy and non ergonomic IEM, I think its more isolated and comfy than my current Andromeda :L3000: The only drawback is its power consumption, with...- musicdragoon

Three Brand New Earphones: Sony IER-Z1R, IER-M9 and IER-M7
All IER still have MMCX, while IER-Z1R have the best cable and better connector with metal housing. Z1R is heavier than Z5, but the new ear hanger and the housing shape does make you feel comfortable, and the isolation is very good. Z5 is quite laid back compare with today’s flagship IEM from...- musicdragoon

Three Brand New Earphones: Sony IER-Z1R, IER-M9 and IER-M7
I think the demo ear buds are not yet run in to give their best on the show floor, its quite common for dynamic drive sounds bassy at initial stage, the sound may tame and smooth after a period of usage time, so I think real judgement should be done after they have real mass product for tryout...- musicdragoon
