JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

2nd hand should be no problem. As long as they haven't been abused ie. Used as exercise headphones or gone in the washer etc. My pair of FX1200 is still my favourite IEM and works well to date. The only annoyance was that a fray had developed on the original braided cable sheath and I have since...

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

Can't really help you out there as I'm simply not familiar with the headphones you've mentioned. Though I've tested the Sennheiser IE80 a few years back and all I can say is that I don't even remember what it sounds like. Yeah the Sony XBA series does have impressive bass, I would say that it...

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

If you're looking for V-shaped but treble boosts bias, you might give the JVC HA-FR65S a go. Not sure if they are still in production though. That said, they're not really in the same league as the FX1200 in terms of sound quality. Also the fit might be uncomfortable for some.   Alternatively...

All that and that the FW01 definitely need a powerful source to sound near it's price range.

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

They'd be pretty hard to fake since wood(birch) housing that thin is not easy to make cheaply to bother faking and unless you got them off some shady merchant, chances of them being fake are slim. That said, I wouldn't take that as a guarantee since the kind of things people fake.... *ahem*...

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

Hm, odd. I personally find the FX1100 a significant improvement to all the other members of the FX families. Especially with the timbre.

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

Got a chance to try out the new FW01 and from the experience of an FX1200 owner, I find the FX1200 to be the easier to drive phone while the FW01 definitely needs something better than a standard android phone output to shine. The Trebles are just a touch brighter in the FW01 and you get more...

Based on pricing it would be the FW-01. Haven't got a chance to hear it though. They have also supposedly discontinued the FX-1100.

    JVC HA-FX1200 vs JVC HA-FW01

Hi there, you could probably find more about the FX-1200/(1100) over at this thread here as well as some comparison with the FW01. The FW01 are pretty damn new, just released by JVC this November which is probably why not much has been heard of them yet.

So long as there are people willing to throw large sum of money away for a quick retail therapy fix, there'll always be products with ridiculous pricing whether or not they deserve it.

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

The standard cables are similar enough in spec and quality there really shouldn't be much difference - Both uses MMCX connection. Aesthetic wise there's some minor differences ie. straight vs 90°   I've tested my FX1200 against a few aftermarket "premium" cables and didn't hear anything...

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

The FW01 does have fewer parts compared to the FX-1100/1200, mostly due to the difference in damping system employed based on the exploded view of the components. That said, I'm not a fan of the shiny plastic front or the JVC embossed back plate on the FW01. Makes it feel tacky.   I'm also too...

    Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread

Personally I find the N1 and N3 to be slightly better than the 300. More meat to the mids and lows while still retaining the clarity. They do require a stronger source to drive well though. As always, I encourage people to never form up opinion from just forum posts. If possible, go try out a...

Assuming that an audiophile USB cable will have a significant impact on the end result, you'll probably also want an "audiophile" usb C to micro usb adaptor. I for one don't see the point really as adding ****ty adapter between the signal path would probably do more harm than using a standard...

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

I never have that trouble with my FX 1200. They fit well and stays in my ears even if I'm being physically very active (running and jumping). The only time they broke seal or drop out is when the cable got caught against door handle, corner of desks etc.

37°C isn't that bad. Pretty much just body temperature, give or take a few more degrees higher depending on ambient conditions. I just hope by the end of it there's still at least a decent battery life since they also mentioned higher power draw, especially for it to appeal as a portable DAP.

    Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread

Lol, so I gave these a try today at a local store and my first impression when I first laid eyes on it is that it looks rather... well... like an inverted ph****s.   Aesthetics aside, they do sound pretty balanced across the spectrum but do require something a bit stronger than your average...

I guess that more or less confirmed that the older series are being discontinued. *calls source to arrange for demo of new wood series*   Great... now I can't wait to give the FW01 and FX1200 a side by side comparison. Not quite a fan of the 'JVC' logo at the back panel though.
