Meze Audio 109 Pro
Did you try the Meze with the original pads? Smaller and less comfortable, but they're supposed to sound good, no bloated bass.- ofern321

They're bad across the spectrum but unlike treble, bad bass isn't ear piercing, just boomy or one-notish...- ofern321

Hi. I'm curious to see which of these wireless earbuds you would recommend.
Hi, only have the Earfun. It sounds good, has strong bass and the features work well. On sale now for around 50 USD.- ofern321

Reply to review by 'ofern321' on item 'HiFiMAN RE800 Silver'
I read somewhere that these have more bass than the original re800. In any case, to me their bass sounds powerful. Very lively sound. Make the re400 sound dull and muffled (even if the latter are a nice and very easy listen). For the current price of 99 USD they're a bargain.- ofern321

Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600
Yep. Just got the re-800 (which is much cheaper than it used to be these days) It is CERTAINLY technically better than the re-400. Very impressive. But not necessarily an easy-listen for long hours. And the 7khz peak needs to be tamed down. No EQ needed for re-400...- ofern321

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?
Krone Kalpasmos for Sony MDR-7506, Wrinkled Frogskin PU Leather Foam. Comfortable, more breathable. I *think* the sound is similar. The original pads are too squishy and the frame pressed on my head.- ofern321

Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600
Thanks. Well, I have noted Crinacle's labeling of these as bright, and was a bit surprised. Most iems have that lift from upper mids to lower treble. The re400 has a gentle lift, slopes down after that for the most part, and on top of that has this slight bump in the mids. Maybe its bass...- ofern321

Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600
Hi, I'm not sure DT880 or the AKG are the equivalents of re400. These headphones seem to be more "clinical". You might look for a used NAD Viso hp50 on ebay. I hear some similarity. Both the NAD and the re400 are neutral-ish, but with a warm tilt.- ofern321

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
Hi, the following comparison between Shure SE846 and Etymotic ER2XR comes from a respectable (former) reviewer on Head-Fi. He says the Etymotic competes very well. Any additional views on that? https://theheadphonecollector.blogspot.com/2019/10/etymotic-er2xr.html- ofern321

After listening to the NH, it's harder to enjoy IEMs, even pretty good ones... Has anyone come across an <300 USD IEM which comes close to the NH? (very low distortion, smooth, speaker-like sound)- ofern321
