micro to mini usb otg cable
Unfortunately this cable does not work with the s4. It charges the e17...but that's about it. -

Yeah, that size isn't going to work very well for you if you're trying to stack the two. I'll be on the lookout for something longer. -

I hear you, and you're right. I have the M-100s and I think I'll be sticking with them for a while. They're not hard to drive but I'd like to clean things up a bit with a good amp. I just ordered the e17 from Amazon and it should be delivered by Thursday. Stay tuned for an update!- br34kb34t

Thanks for the info about the e09k. You summed things up pretty well. Rolling a dice might be exactly what I need to do. I think for now, I'm going to go with the e17. It seems to have more of what I'm looking for at the moment, including eq options and the ability to pair with the e09k in...- br34kb34t

This is why I'm having so much trouble making a decision!! lol I really like aspects of both. If the e18 had better eq options, I'd probably be sold. But I do still like the idea of having the e09k as a desktop amp to pair with the e17. Decisions, decisions....- br34kb34t

Fiio E17 DAC/Amp (ALPEN) + Fiio E09K Desktop Amp (QOGIR) Pictures, Impressions and Review [UPDATED Feb. 21]
Can anyone comment on the use of the e17 with Android devices using OTG cable? Specifically the Galaxy S4. I know the e18 is an Android device but I like the idea of having the e09k as a desktop amp.- br34kb34t

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate the info. I know I want a good PC dac that is also portable so maybe I should just order the e18 since I do prefer Android over iOS. There are a few more things that I'm curious about, for anyone who has used both the e17 and the e18: 1. Are the...- br34kb34t

Thanks for the response! I guess I need to determine what I'm going to use more - a computer or a phone. To date, I use my PC way more than my phone for listening to music. 90% of my phone listening takes place while I'm in the gym and I'm using some pretty low end ear buds for that. But I...- br34kb34t

Which takes the prize for better dac, e17k or e18? Fiio went with a new chip for the e18 and I'm wondering if it's any better than the e17k. Does the e18 really amp better?- br34kb34t

Fiio E09K vs E07K vs E17K for sennheiser momentum?
Will your laptop be the only source for music? The e09k is just an amplifier and not a dac so it won't act as an external sound card for your computer. The e07k and e17k are both dac amp combos, so they can convert digital to analog as well as amplify the sound. If the sound card in your laptop...- br34kb34t

Thanks for the response. I guess with so many options available, I'm having a hard time deciding on what to go for. I'm using V-Moda m100s, which don't take a whole lot to drive. Because of this, I probably don't need a very high powered amp. I have a Nuforce udac-3 right now, but I'm not very...- br34kb34t

I'm also wondering if anyone has experienced any issues using the e18 as a dac with kitkat 4.4.2. I've read reviews in which people mention the need for cyanogenmod 11.- br34kb34t

For those of you who own an e18 - can you speak a little to how this device works as a dac for a PC? I've heard good things about use with Android, but I haven't heard a whole lot about PC dac. I do most of my listening on a PC but have recently started tuning in more on my phone. I'm thinking...- br34kb34t

Fiio e17k/e09k setup to replace Nuforce udac-3?
Thanks for the info. I started looking into the e18 as well, which also looks like a great little device - possibly more what I'm looking for. I read that the e18 will support YouTube on an Android device, but do you know if it supports a wide range of other applications? I sometimes use the...- br34kb34t

Fiio e17k/e09k setup to replace Nuforce udac-3?
I'm currently using a Nuforce udac-3 but I'm thinking of switching to something that can be used as both a desktop dac/amp and a portable amp. I've been reading about the Fiio e17k/e09k pairing and this sounds like something that might work well for my needs. I'm wondering if anyone out there...- br34kb34t

V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
I'm using a Nuforce udac-3 and it definitely delivers a much better sound than my GS4 or the sound card in my computer. I haven't used an amp for my phone but I'm sure that would sound pretty great as well. But I guess I was expecting the bass to be heavy without having to use an EQ to drive it...- br34kb34t

I've had my m100's for just over a week now and I have to say that I really do enjoy them. I started off with the regular ear cushions and found them to be pretty uncomfortable. After about 20 or 30 minutes, I got a headache and my ears hurts, and I had to take them off for a while. I got the XL...- br34kb34t

Foobar allows you to convert mp3 to wav to FLAC - is this really improving the audio quality? I was under the impression that mp3 could not be uncompressed.- br34kb34t
