Wow! Thank you very much for all that info. I can't see myself being a tube roller but I do like the warm sound. But the micro details! So many choices. Maybe that leans me toward the Play it By Ear. Hopefully I'll be able to hear both of them later.

Damn. I heard that vmf or someone uses the hm5 leather pads on theirs so i thought it would be manageable. Should I just get the 840s then...? I tried on my brothers 840's and i didn't enjoy the pads that much

Hey does anyone have any tips or a process to getting hm5 pads onto the t50rp. I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get it over. I stretched it out for a day and it looks ALMOST big enough but i feel like i'm missing the special technique or something.

The first thing i noticed in the review was the non terrible cable and the replaceable earpads >_>  Those are my two LEAST favorite things about my x1's. I feel like my headphones are a timebomb waiting for my pads to die.

Can anyone give me a comparison of the alpha dogs to the beyerdynamic T1p? I tried both of them at the LA meet this weekend and I liked both of them but I was unable to give either one of them enough time to really solidify how they are different. Besides pricing and open/closed of course.
