I had some scratchy noise when the volume pot is at 9~12 o'clock position. I opened it up and sprayed deoxit F5 to the alps pot, then no noise at all, its been 2 years and still no problems.

True, but with my dac(modius), the rca and xlr outs use different analog stages. So I want to utilize the xlr out of my dac. And I think the xlr out would match better with tube amps. I might get a valhallla 2 in a few days. I'll report back if my dacs (modius,idsd micro) pair well with it.

After searching, yeah, no balanced otl amp. At least in my price range. Looks like tube hybrid will be the way to go.

Would you know of any balanced otl amp? I want to maximize the use of my balanced dac so I kinda need a balanced amp.

So I've come to the conclusion that I can't stand the treble on my T1.2 (silver, SN 26xxx) using SS amps (Burson Soloist SL, LC 2.0) What would be a good tube/hybrid balanced amp ~500$ that I can get? I'm thinking Drop Liquid Platinum. Any others?

Might be, because my T1.2 is an earlier SN silver color. I read that the black ones have lesser treble than this. Looks like a tube/tube hybrid is in my future. I will give the Modius more burn-in time in balanced mode and hear if anything changes. Edit: OMG T1.2 and Modius balanced might be...

So I tried the Modius balanced out to Liquid Carbon 2.0. Sounded cleaner, airier, more transparent (very picky with tracks) BUT I can hear some sibilance with T1.2. Seems like I returned back to iDSD Micro with this setup. Let me see if there is a burn-in period for this. I only have ~20 hours...

This Schiit really is bananas! Immediately replaced my iDSD Mirco in the desktop rig. I dunno, it sounds more "real" and full (iDSD sounds thin and analytical in comparison). Maybe I prefer the warmish sound of Modius with my T1.2. With LCD-2F, still great but can sound veiled and sometimes...

Just what I needed, thanks very much. Looks like solaris will fit and be more comfy, I think dm6 shape is more custom-like but sadly they are not for my ears.

Does anyone own both Solaris 2020 and BGVP DM6? Mind posting side by side pics? DM6 hurts my ears and I would like to know if Solaris 2020 will fit my weird ear canals.

The left channel RCA out of my iDSD is going bad, and it's out of warranty. I guess this will be a portable use dac+amp from now on. Good thing I have a new desktop DAC coming.

So if I'm gonna be using LCD-2F and T1.2, would you think I would benefit from getting BF2 instead of Modius?

But bf2 was listed with dacs costing 4 figures! I dunno, but I don't have 4-figure headphones and amps (yet) to pair it with. Anyway, I might try modius first and get bf2 if the need/want arises.

Thank god their xlr pyst cable is out of stock in the website, I might have grabbed modius + pyst by now. Now all I do is wait for comparisons with bifrost 2.

That's a better way to do it. I don't have any skills tinkering with electrical stuff so maybe I just got lucky with my Soloist.

Do let me know if that fixes your problem with the LC. I have no dac with balanced out atm so I'm trying to rule out the splitter circuit problem. And I haven't received my LC at this point LOL.

In my case, I had to DeOxit the Alps pot on my Soloist SL. Same problem, channel imbalance and scratchy noise. After spraying, works like a charm for almost 1 year now. But yeah, I understand that the LC has a splitter circuit unlike my Soloist and that might also be the culprit.

Was it easy to take apart? Can you guide me through the process? Just bought a used LC 2.0 and I might do what you did when it arrives. And also spray DeOxit F5 on the volume pot while I'm at it.

Got it for 500, with extra balanced cable and adapters. There are many for sale posts of drop liquid platinums in the market section, let's see. But bifrost 2 first.

Planning on getting this as an upgrade to my soloist sl mk2. The 4.4mm output I will use for my lcd-2f and t1 2nd gen and maybe iems. So will this really be an upgrade from the burson? I use ifi micro idsd as dac. But planning to go full balanced bifrost 2 + a90.
