What do BBE and Aphex do? I used to have a Cowon J3 with BBE on it - equivalent of a dsp with virtualiser or something similar. Why don't you try Viper4android? You need to be rooted, bit it gives a fair few options....- Agharta

Is burn in real or placebo?
I find the older I get, the more I need increasingly strong coffees in the morning before I am properly burned in.- Agharta

Testing audiophile claims and myths
My point isn't to imagine that perception bias us real but rather that audio industry reviewers be honest about it.- Agharta

Testing audiophile claims and myths
Yes, of course. Confirmation bias and visual / tactile cues are expertly manipulated by audio manufacturers to exploit your emotional reasoning. This is hardly rocket science - if it didn't make a difference what something looked like, why bother making it look so fancy? Cables are the ultimate...- Agharta

Testing audiophile claims and myths
Lend me your senses and I will let you know. On a philosophical level, your universe is defined by your perception of it, so the most you can experience is at the point where your physical limitations end. I don't personally believe in a God or anything beyond what we can sense, since that's a...- Agharta

Best sound out of your iPod/iPad? - AAC, FLAC, WAV, MP3
Once you stop straining to analyse the sound quality, you can actually enjoy the music. Things sound better when you relax. As the zen phrase goes, the best way to climb a mountain is to begin at the top.- Agharta

Why 24 bit audio and anything over 48k is not only worthless, but bad for music.

Why 24 bit audio and anything over 48k is not only worthless, but bad for music.
The problem with saying "London, England" vs "London, Ontario" or "Paris, France" vs "Paris, Texas" is that it gives both cities an equal status, when clearly and unarguably the USA versions are secondary and inferior. It's an example of US cultural ignorance, as if the rest of the globe is...- Agharta

It's just called Bath, no need for the England bit. Have to groan everyone I watch an American film and they refer to London, England or Paris, France.- Agharta
