  I agree that there shouldn't be a difference, and maybe it is just in my mind.  Still, my ears tell me there was a difference going from v2.03 to v2.04, and again going to 2.05.  Perhaps that's making me 'paranoid' when listening to new releases.  Like others, I think Fiio's continued efforts...

I think 2.02 and 2.04 both sounded better than later releases.  Are there two development teams working on these beta releases?  Certainly 2.05 and 2.07 sound different to me.

Yes, playlists created from within X5 run in the order saved, well done.  Have not tried lists created on PC but am guessing will be fine.   Now just need all songs by artist to run in the album order rather than all track 1's, all track 2's, etc etc.  As elsewhere this worked in v2.02 so...

  I too found the all tracks by Artist not listing by Album but 1,1,1, 2,2,2, etc. this as per v2.02, so a backward step.   Mind you, I also found the mids further forward, or I suspect the top end is not as bright, either way I like it.  So will stay with v2.04 for the sound; I can live with...

Tried a couple of the custom firmware's, very good.  However, to me v2.02 beta sounds much better than v2.0; more dynamic, clearer, etc.  Now, it might just be because I want it to be so, but it's sufficient for me to switch back to v2.02b and await a future update based on this.

I couldn't agree more.  I am more than happy with my X5.  I've played a number of formats and think .FLAC is the best option for me.
