Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
Understood! Well, I suppose you and Scrambler just have a very different take... It'd be nice to know which one gets closer to my tastes now! :D Anyway, I'm in no hurry, so I'll do some more searching and see what comes up. Yeah, I often think about increasing the budget, then I remember how...- AceDuff

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
Uhm, I was about to ask about the TFZs, couldn't help not noticing them on your profile pic (I have kind of an obsession for blue products :D). I could import the JVC from Japan through eBay for 49€, do you think doubling the budget for the 1200EX or the TFZs would be worth it? I'd have to...- AceDuff

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
Interesting, thank you very much! Gotta read some reviews tomorrow! Is there by chance any other option worth considering in this price range? It really was, I was very disappointed when I figured I couldn't keep them. I tried every combination, even purchased Comply tips and the big Sony...- AceDuff

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
Hi guys! Just found this thread cause I've been feeling the need to get some new iem... I hope somebody might be able to help me out. I'm currently using a FiiO X3II with Xiaomi Hybrid (aka Piston IV) but I'm about to give both away for an LG G6 and a new pair of in-ear. I listen mainly to metal...- AceDuff

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
First of all, thank you very much for your kind reply! My list of option is limited because, as you might imagine, I live in Europe...Italy, to be specific. We don't have as wide a range of options as USA/Canada or Asian folks do. For example, Final Audio headphones are really hard to find...- AceDuff

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
Hi guys, I took a look very carefully at the first post of this thread and want to really thank the OP for making this guide. It's really complicated to find tips on what audio equipment to buy as a metalhead and this guide definitely is the way to go for unexperienced people like me. So I'd...- AceDuff

Alright, got it! I'll also taka a look at those Sennheiser, I see they're sold at 110€ here, which might be a good option between HD449 and DT 770 Pro. Now I'll take some time to gathee some money and then I'll make the final decision, but I want to really thank all of you guys for your help...- AceDuff

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
I exclusively own Android devices (Note 4 now). Anyway, as I previously said, my focus is on desktop applications. Those times I play music from my smartphone, I'm fine with a straight connection to my in-ears; for the rest of the time I'm using a Sansa Clip, at least until I'll be able to...- AceDuff

Thanks for pointing out then. With "DSP" are you referring to dedicated audio card, am I right?- AceDuff

I'm not actually. Schiit Fulla was suggested mainly because of the low budget, the focus is on desktop application. Just curious: why not getting the Fulla for portable devices? About the Beyer, they seem to be stable at 150€ here in Europe, lowest price I can find is 145€, though...- AceDuff

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
Yeah, the only problem is that I would have to place the Fiio behind my pc and then remove it when I go outside home and need it as a portable media player, and that would be uncomfortable. I guess where you're on a tight budget you have to make some sacrifices, though. Hoping...- AceDuff

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
That is a rather interesting option, I have to say. That thing looks really nice, and by the way I love their humour. The only problem is: how am I going to drive my speakers? Buying a DAC/Amp would let me drive "any" headphones in a good way, but would leave my speakers to be driven by the...- AceDuff

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
Wait wait, I got lost here... I know BD 770 Pro 250Ohm in particular will require a dedicated audio card, that's of course out of question. Will a Asus Xonar DX (or D1) be able to drive them? I'm possibly willing to push myself up to a Creative Sound Blaster Z. Since audio card are not...- AceDuff

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
Mmm...From the description you wrote, I would say Ultrasone and Audiotechnica are the kind of headphones I should avoid. So in the end the fight is between Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic, and it all comes down to a budget matter (obviously considering BD should be on a higher level compared to...- AceDuff

First of all, thanks to everybody for your quick and kind replies! Quote: I looked for the Ultrasone you suggested, I found just one pair on eBay, from France, sold at 130€. At that price point wouldn't it be better to go with Beyerdynamic DT 770 maybe? Also because, as much as I...- AceDuff

Lol, I don't think I can't even get closer to such prices, my choice is restricted to the headphones I've listed above (or any other that are placed within that price range)...Let's say my maximum budget is 150€, though if there is something valuable under 100€ I'll be happy too. I know it's not...- AceDuff

Hi guys, found this thread while looking for some heavy metal headphones. I see you have been talking a lot about expensive high end stuff, but I hope I can borrow a little of your time for some suggestions on cheap stuff. Unfortunately I cannot afford 300-400+ $ headphones, but I always try to...- AceDuff

[REVIEW] TDK IE800 - Another Winner From TDK
Understood! No, I definitely don't have money to waste, I'd never spend 100$ on an amp...At that point I would directly upgrade my player adding another 50$ and switch to a Fiio X3, so to solve the "problem". Which is an improper definition, cause my TDK's sound really good anyway. Well, thanks...- AceDuff

[REVIEW] TDK IE800 - Another Winner From TDK
I suppose the internal rubber/gel gets more and more attached to the cans over time... Anyway, I read in several threads that these IEMs deliver best quality when driven by an amp, because of their low impedance. Well, at first I didn't exactly understand what "hungry iems" meant, but over some...- AceDuff

[REVIEW] TDK IE800 - Another Winner From TDK
Hi guys, I just got today my new IE800 and found that they come with a pair of Comply tips already in...These tips fit quite good in my ears, nevertheless I wanted to try the silicon tip but found out that I can't seem to get those foam tips off...I pulled them a lot, but they're not moving at...- AceDuff

Interesting...So I should let down the Silver Bullet. This gets me to the final fight: would you reccomend IE800 over RE 400 (also considering the music genre I'm going to use my iems with and the different pricing)? Thank you very much for your reply btw! ;-)- AceDuff

Thank you very much for your reply, it definitely confirmed me these are going to be 99% my new iems! I'd just like to hear if anyone can answer to the question about the comparison with Hifiman and Fischer Audio, but I'm already pretty much sure about TDK! ;-)- AceDuff
