I didn't get to root the device yet so I've been using the latest firmware and it has been very stable so far with the Fiio app (3.0.9). Folder browsing has been smooth with 2 SD cards in use, which is pretty much all I needed lol

Indeed, it ended up being a good buy, especially with that battery life. Forgot to turn it off three nights (turning it off on the morning after waking up) and its still running without me having to charge since - my E12 nor the E17 wouldn't get past the first night!

Yes that would work. You can connect that DAC to the E09K via aux easily, but that DAC doesn't have USB input so you'd have to use a usb to coax adapter for your laptop
