Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!
They did arrive. I wasn't impressed at first, but now I like them more than my 650's for normal listening. I have some initial impressions here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/826809/hd-650-closed-back-compliment/15#post_13046073- 7Sevin

HD-650 closed-back compliment?
Alright, I've been listening to the TH-610's I received today for almost 2 hours. Here are my impressions. They are beautiful. The walnut looks great. Build quality seems good. The cable feels and looks nice, better than my 650. The cable attachment points on the earcups feel very sturdy and...- 7Sevin

HD-650 closed-back compliment?
I've actually just closed the deal on a pair of Fostex TH-610's with another Head-Fi member. I've heard they're slightly more refined, plus they look better to me and are the only ones with a detachable cable. I appreciate your input though!- 7Sevin

Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!
Thank you for your insight! So now that the TH-X00 are back on Massdrop, seems like a sign I need to be picking them up. How similar is the sound signature between the 610 and the X00? Have you tried the X00? I much prefer the darker matte wood of the 610 to the X00, but I'd be saving $200...- 7Sevin

Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!
Hi folks. I'm in the market for new headphones at the moment because I need something closed-back to compliment my HD650's. I want a more "fun" headphone, maybe like a V signature. My research has lead me to the D5000 and similar Fostex's. I know it may be a bit biased asking in this thread, but...- 7Sevin

HD-650 closed-back compliment?
Alright, thanks for your help. But you think I'm on the right track here with the Denons and Fostex? They're all around $400+.- 7Sevin

HD-650 closed-back compliment?
So are they sonically similar enough that I shouldn't sweat it? Reading about the D5000's makes me drool a little bit, minus the fact that they aren't fully closed and their flimsy nature. Do the Fostex's keep up in the bass department? Are they more isolating?- 7Sevin

HD-650 closed-back compliment?
Thanks! I think if I were to go the Denon route, I'd get the D5000's though. Since they're both discontinued, prices aren't too different between them nowadays. Do the TH-X00 best the D5000's as well? What about isolation? I know the Denons are semi-open, being that they have that little...- 7Sevin

HD-650 closed-back compliment?
Can anyone compare the D2000/D5000 to the Fostex TH-X00 or TH-610? I find the D5000s kind of ugly, but the 610s look awesome to me. Of course, SQ comes first.- 7Sevin

HD-650 closed-back compliment?
Thanks for the suggestion! Reading the reviews here on Head-Fi makes them sound like a good fit. I've had a pair of Denons before (AH-D1100) and they broke at the headband/cup coupling within 3 months. They had always felt flimsy to me. Is it a different story with the D2000's? Also, I've read...- 7Sevin

HD-650 closed-back compliment?
Posted this over on /r/headphones, figured I would post a little more detailed version here. Hi all. I’ve had the same audio setup for the past 2 years; Sennheiser HD650’s, and the Schiit Magni 2U and Modi 2U. The HD650’s are the only "serious" headphones I've ever owned and now I want...- 7Sevin

HD650 correct part numbers?
I bought a used pair of HD650's a little over a year ago. They have been great, however the grills have always looked a little ratty due to the paint having flaked off, and now I'm finally getting around to researching the possibility of replacing them. I've found this site and I'm a bit...- 7Sevin

Rattle from HD650 right earcup?
I just replaced the cable about a month ago with the factory Sennheiser replacement. I don't have another I can test with, but I have tried reseating the connection a couple times to no avail.- 7Sevin

Rattle from HD650 right earcup?
I've had my HD650's less than a year and in that time the cable has gone bad once and now my right earcup is rattling. It just started happening today and only occurs in the bass frequencies. Whenever a lower frequency comes in, I can hear a rattle in tune with it from the bottom of my right...- 7Sevin

HD650's going bad or just cable?
I don't think it's inside the cup, its just below the prong unit thing on the wire, at the area where the wire and the prong unit connect.- 7Sevin

foobar won't launch
Yeah, that gave me the same errors. I ended up just letting it launch and reloading my theme and my music library from preferences. I think it's okay now. Weird that it happened though.- 7Sevin

HD650's going bad or just cable?
Yeah, I pushed on the connection between the wire and the prong converter thing on the top and it works if I do that. I guess I'll just grab a replacement off BH unless someone has a good suggestion for a cheap upgrade.- 7Sevin

HD650's going bad or just cable?
I've had a pair of HD650's for only half a year and they've started to go bad. I was listening to some music today and all of the sudden I began noticing some artifacts in the left channel. They got worse and worse over the next few minutes until it finally just quit and now I only have the...- 7Sevin

foobar won't launch
So I've been using foobar2000 for almost a year and have been loving it. Recently I've run into a big issue, however.
