Thanks for the input! I'm finding it a bit tough to visualize, but I will run it by one of my more technically-inclined friends!

I want my headphones to light up! Help me!!

I get what you're saying -- run the strip through the center of the coil? I like the idea because it allows the coil to stretch without ripping the cable, but I really want to make this look as OEM as possible. I feel like that would be really hard to do with a coiled cable.

I want my headphones to light up! Help me!!

So I have decided for my next project to create a pair of headphones that light up, to use for when I'm DJing. The problem is that I'm not very good at taking my ideas and actually applying them... I'm also not that great with my hands, so I don't want a mod that is going to be extremely...

Head phones that light up... help me!

Definitely too technical for me... Methinks I might have to seek the help of a professional o.o Honestly I'm not really a fan of the "TRON" style, even though with this concept it is kind of unavoidable. I want something as understated as possible, while still being eye-catching. And...

Head phones that light up... help me!

Not a huge fan of glow in the dark paint, as it has a dated '90s look to it.   I believe it is the inverter that causes the whine, and when I did a very rough test run I did have the placement at around pocket/belt level. The problem is that the whine seems to be channeled through the...

    V Moda M80 or LP2??

Exactly the same problem here. The soundstand and bass on the M80 were very nice. One of the finest supraaurals I have had the pleasure to listen to, and they can be found very cheap right now.

screw Beats, ATH m50s rule! But some people don't seem to think so...

ATH M50s are amazing. I think their biggest drawback is their bulky design. If Audio Technica could fit the sound of the M50 in headphones styled similarly to something like the Pioneer HDJ2000 I think they'd have a winning combo. I'd pay more for a good design!

Why are there 2 types of V-Moda M80s; and why isnt there any information on them?

In the end I suppose you're right, but I figured I'd start a thread about this in case anyone else online is having the same questions. Obviously V-Moda doesn't find it important enough to address. I definitely find it weird that they even changed the case size... oh well.

Why are there 2 types of V-Moda M80s; and why isnt there any information on them?

I recently bought two pairs of V-Moda M80s from two different Radio Shacks, while the sale was still going on. I noticed something very interesting after taking them home and listening to them. It appears there are 2 different boxes that were made: 1. This appears on V-Moda's site, but I...

    Noob needs help choosing headphone

Another vote for the M80s. They can be had pretty cheap right now, and provide a fantastic sound. Very well balanced, nice bass. The LPs sound horrible. I wish V-moda would make a headphone with the M80 sound profile in a circumaural design....

audio technica ath-m50 vs beyerdynamic dt880 pro

Haven't tried the 880s yet, but after going through the HDJ2000s, V-Moda M80s and Crossfade LPs, the M50s still sound the absolute best. Second only to the Sennheiser Amperiors to my ears. The fact that they're circumaural also puts them on top for me.

Please, help choosing headphones under 100$!

ATH-M50s are popping up for under $100 recently. I would go for those.
