Just got a 2nd hand MDR Z7, still in mint condition. Got it for $200 with a free case, but minus the balanced cable. Great synergy with my O2 amp and Fiio X5 even in its stock form.  I'm just really happy with this purchase! :)

Yeah, about the source, for now I only have a Fiio X5 and if that's the case I may really need to get a proper desktop DAC. I have lots of options here that I can demo so I can pick whichever will be suitable for my budget.

  That's probably good advice and can you tell me what are the usual early production issues that Stax' phones had before? I haven't heard much issues from the L500 and L700 owners so far, except from the one who posted earlier in this thread. 

Woah! Thanks for the info. It's price is higher than the srs2170 and there's zero impression since it's not yet out. Maybe it's better for me to wait for a little longer to make any decision.

Hmm I see, so the squealing issue with the ESP950 is somehow inevitable? I'm from outside the USA so shipping the set will cost me a lot as I am financially limited. Practicality wise, the SR207 seems to be the better option.

yup, and a good example is Bob Dylan's Tombstone Blues from Highway 61 Revisited. That particular recording is almost always sibilant no matter what iem I use. The A1Ap and the A73 were no exceptions. However the sibilance level of the A73 is not tolerable for me but the A1Ap was doing fine.

I am now done auditioning the A73s, along side some other IEMs too. In the end I took home the Sony A1APs and here is the reason why:    Fit: A1APs fit my ears perfectly with the smallest tips they got.  The A73's fit my ears perfectly too with the smallest tips, but they sort of hurt after...
