    Sennheiser CX300-II or CX475 earphones?

Yes, the K701 is quite laid back and almost the opposite of the SR225i. If you're short on budget/or if stuff is more expensive in the UK, get them off the forums here and see if anyone in the US will ship to UK.    In terms of cheaper IEM's that suit that sound signature, I really don't know...

What music to test headphones out?

You use garageband, it's pretty easy if you have a mac. Otherwise multiple applications on a PC can do it for you, with free editing software. Then combine the tracks into a single track as stated above. That's pretty smart actually, never really thought of that myself.   What you do is you...

What music to test headphones out?

Sound card? Bypass that and get a decent DAC or something, connected via USB or Toslink. Even a cheap dragonfly would help.

HURRY!!! Pls help me to CHOOSE!!! HD218i or CX300?

Shure SE115-GR, though its only $49 in the states. PX200 is also a good option, but most people prefer the PX100 (a classic, truly good). Is the PX200-II or PX200 (same with the 100's, is it PX100-II or PX100)? The original version is better...

    Sennheiser CX300-II or CX475 earphones?

Excellent choice, the SR225i is the 2nd best price to performance ratio in terms of Grados, value-wise. So I'm guessing you want an aggressive, forward sound signature?

What music to test headphones out?

Not sure, but just make sure you listen to it in lossless (i.e. buy the CD and rip it, don't download it off itunes @256kbps). And use the same tracks every time (duh). I would recommend artists in the 90's / 2000's, since recently, 2010+, there's been a controversy about how recording studios...

    Bose new QuietComfort

If you're not an audiophile get off this forum! jk lol ;P   Are you open to IEM's? If so the SE215's will give you great bass, as will the Cardas Ear Speakers or Monster Miles Davis Tribute/Turbine Pro (either copper or gold); both will give you PNC (passive noise control that actually works...

Which Grados do you have currently? Just curious and see if we can get a similar sound signature to those Grados you like...

HURRY!!! Pls help me to CHOOSE!!! HD218i or CX300?

Oh god the CX300 is horrible. Fake CX300's sound about the same as real CX300's I just replied to another thread asking a similar question. What's your budget? Canal-phone, IEM, or earphone?

Hello, i am new and looking for IEM

I didn't know you could order from amazon US for international shipping -- that would save a lot of people time and effort here over headfi!    SE215's for sure, or if you want blue, get the SE215SE's. Or SE115m if you want a microphone (pretty much the same drivers, different housing)...

    Bose new QuietComfort

Parrot Ziks are generally good for noise-cancelling BT headphones. Though keep in mind that you'll lose fidelity, as BT compresses the audio quality, obviously. However, they have a detachable cable so that if you want to get better sound quality through a cabled connection, you have that option...

    Sennheiser CX300-II or CX475 earphones?

+1.   Oh god neither. CX400/500 were bad enough (bought legit from amazon direct). Just because it's branded "sennheiser" doesn't mean all their products are good. $8500 Hundyai accent versus $65000 Hyundai Equus.

    Best sub $1500 DAC?

I have the Headroom Ultra Desktop DAC and it does wonders for me, balanced and unbalanced. It's around $1595 MSRP I think when it was discontinued late 2013, so you can probably pick it up for cheaper. It has all the outputs you want and more (dual XLR balanced). An uberfrost (upgraded Schiit...

POLL: Reshelling Universal IEM's for Reasons Other Than Fit....

So fortunately, my ears, though small, fit almost every universal I've come across, even the hefty UE TF10's... Was wondering about some opinions, since I recently sent in a W4R to be reshelled just for fun...   Does reshelling, for purposes other than fit, really affect the sound quality, and...

    Ultrasone Edition 12 - Thoughts?

Ultrasone cheaped out and cut out from the ED10 the wooden stand/case, the leather, etc, and made a reasonable price cut. I don't know of anyone who owns it quite honestly, hence the lack of reviews...    Similarly, I doubt anyone will have reviews of the Edition 5, with only 555 being...

    Inexpensive Custom IEM's?

Can't you purchase them with ambient vent holes so that you can kidna hear around you?    Also, I think listening to earphones in certain states is illegal while driving (cars at least, idk about motorcycles)//

Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!

Blancpain or Jaeger LeCoutre? That's like 1 to 10 x Sennheiser Orpheous HE90!! (depending on model... wish I could afford a LeCoutre gyroscopic tourbillion).     Are you sure about the Cellini line? I thought they were all hand-wound mechanical... beautiful because they're the only Rolex (I...

New guy, looking for suggestions sub $250 (Not your standard request)

Have you tried formally integrating (maybe some calculus involved with your audiologist) your hearing loss response curve with the HP150 frequency response curve? If it comes out as dead neutral, as you said, you made a big score! ;D

Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!

+1. Don't hate Quartz just because they're found in cheap ($30) to ridiculously expensive ($2000+ for an Omega, TAG, Breitling, etc). I have the "poor man's/newer revision" of the Omega X33 (aka the Seamaster Multifunction 120m)..     EVEN ROLEX AND PATEK MADE QUARTZ IN THE 80'S!! I know hard...

@satwilson Sorry!! I'm bombarded with PM's and was looking for a NOS matched pair -- The humming sound went away! I bought the Telefunken's from a local audio/electronics shop, but probably should've have demoed them before I bought them. Now with *burn in* they do sound better than the GE...

Where can i buy some Futuresonic Atrio M5/MG7? UK

IEM's only? The Cardas Ear Speakers have the BEST BASS and overall value of any IEM (they're in my top 5 all time IEM's regardless of price, and I've owned over 30, including the IE800 and K3003i and Heir 8.A and a few cIEM's). Monster Miles Davis Tribute (or Trumpet, but mostly Tribute)...

    Very specific, semi-basshead cans required

Well, aside from buying the 2 headphone thing, the Ultrasone PRO900 is what you're looking for. KILLER BASS SEPARATION. Bass kicks very hard. Highs roll off a bit but improve with 200 hours of burn in, so definitely not sibilant.     - 2 sets of detachable cables, 2 sets of pads.    - As...

    Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers

Does anyone know how to A/B test tubes? (well actually this is a really stupid question.) It's not like with headphones where you just plug them in. You have to cool/reheat for 5 minutes and plug those damn hot things out. Unless you get 2 LYR's :P
