    Yes, you can run a portable amp/DAC from the headphone jack. Check out the portable amp/DAC section for advice and suggestions :) I use a FiiO E17 on my ipod classic.

    the Sennheiser 595's will not give you the bass you are wanting from the headphones you listed. They are good/ok open back headphones but will not give you the heavy driving bass when you compare them to ATH WS99 etc

    For replacement pads, is there a significant difference between the velour pads vs. the leather-ette type pads? I assume there initially is in terms of seal over/on the ear, but is the bass impact very dissimilar? I prefer using velour pads but if it affected the 'sensation' in the performance...

    Hisound Audio WooDuo 2 gets my vote as well. I'm a bass head through and through, from my car and my subs to my personal preferences for iem. I listen hip hop, rap, dubstep, trap and reggae mostly and as much as everyone here is recommending their personal opinions, from one bass-head to another...
