Question for Battlefield 4 on PS4
Hi guys, Does anyone know how big are the total amount of patches required for the PS4 version of BF4 if I buy the game now? I really don't want to pay for the game, only to find need to dl like 5GB of patches before I can properly play the game... Do the newer retail discs come pre patched...- shch13

Philips TX1 / TX2 Impressions Thread
I got the TX1s here in Australia for 39.95 as an introductory price (just released here) I've been using it primarily with my Walkman A15 and also the Touch4G with FLACs and ALACs. I have to use the largest tips though. I find it pretty comfortable. Pretty impressed with it so far. Bass with...- shch13

Slowly dying on the inside. Dap recommendations.
Well first thing is it's small. I like the small size. Coming from the Walkman Z it was wonderful to have great sound quality in a smaller device. Comparing it with the Walkman Z, the A series I think is less bassy, that's the most noticeable aspect for me. Vs. with ipods (i've had...- shch13

Upgrade from Sennheiser CX 880 - what to choose?
Hi sorry a bit off topic here. But I'm currently considering a purchase of the CX890. I figure that the CX880 would be similar since they're in the same series. What's your impressions of the 880? Is it a high-ended model? Do you think its worth 150-200?- shch13

What about the Sony NWZ-A17? Small device, still great sound quality, 64GB. It's a bit plasticky though.- shch13

Sennheiser CX890 or Momentum?
Hi, Up until now I've always been in the mid-fi area for headphones/IEMs. I've never really known what was a high-end IEM. The stores near me recently started releasing the Sennheiser Momentum IEM and also the CX890, at the same price, the Momentum being 165 compared to CX890 at 160. THe...- shch13

The Xiaomi Pistons Thread 2.0
I bought a set of silver Pistons, they are the 2.1 version. I bought these for 22AUD through a friend. Price vs Performance, insanely inappropriate. I have no problem with the fit with the default tips. The bass on these is wow... it reminds me of the Klipsch Image Ones. Clarity is awesome...- shch13

Is my Walkman Z dying?
Thanks guys, I'll give the reset a shot. I've already updated my Z to build 2.04. Really hate to see this little guy dying off since theres hardly any dedicated players these days from big brands and don't need to like search nook and cranny for audio brands.- shch13

Is my Walkman Z dying?
I've got an Walkman Z1050, had it for almost 2+ years now, at 3 years in September. It's on Android 4.0.4 and updated to the latest Build software for it 2.04. Storage is 50% full and I only have FLAC/MP3/M4A files on it with no additional apps except for the ones that came with the stock ROM...- shch13

Newly Released Sennheiser CX Series Earphones: In particular, the CX 3.00 and CX 5.00G
I think the CX5.00 and the Sennheiser Momentum In-ears use the same driver but tuned slightly differently or maybe even no difference (I haven't tried it's just I'm doing research on it for purchase). Spec wise theres no difference, even the driver housing looks similar with that slanted...- shch13

Sol Republic Amps HD, AKG K375, or Klipsch S4i II for EDM?
With your genre choice of music all 3 of those will be fine. All 3 of them aren't especially good at reproducing mids or highs (basically vocals or cymbals), maybe except for the AKG that's an all-rounder compared to the other 2. Sol Republic is the best for hip hop/rap and that The AKG are...- shch13

Mid-range Philips Citiscape series?
I did see Tyll's review and they look attractive, decent sound and great price. I would really like to see if anyone on head-fi has tried the Citiscape Jetts though before I make the decision. Only detailed reviews I could fine were 2 German reviews on a consumer review site, and through...- shch13

Mid-range Philips Citiscape series?
so I guess this means no one is a regular user of the Citiscape series? Or no one's tried the Jetts? I saw some reviews on the Downtown and it does seem to sound very similar to the Shibuya. Might not get it if thats the case. The place where I saw them has the Downtown cheaper than the Jetts...- shch13

Sennheiser Cx300 precision
Welcome to Head-FI. Try getting getting a tighter fit/seal on your ears. Try sticking them further in, or use tips that are more appropriate for your ear size, it should've came with S/M/L tips, keep trying them in your ear. A good fit will also reduce sharpness.- shch13

Mid-range Philips Citiscape series?
A few Philips Citiscape range headphones caught my eye in the store recently. I've tried Citiscape Shibuya once and subsequently gave it away because to me, it sounded really odd, it sounded artificial especially the high vocals. But they do look good. This was back when didn't really know...- shch13

A Phillips High-end or a Shure entry level?
i'm currently looking for some under 50 high performance IEM's. I've sighted the Philips TX2 and the Shure SE112 being both good on price vs performance. I'm also curious to see how Shure's other budget offering the SRH144 would perform in comparison against these. THe TX2 has made it onto...- shch13

Sony MDR-10RC ( Hi Res Audio ) Just arrived !!!
I saw theres a MDR-10RC and theres also a 10 RB model here in Aus, theres a $20 difference between 10RC and 10RB. Does the 20 makes any significant differences besides the RC being more compact than the RB?- shch13

SONY NWZ-A10 Series
My impressions of the A15 so far based on my whole day of listening with 16bit FLACs and 320k mp3 as well as iTunes bought AAC. Now I read earlier in the pages of this topic that the output impedance of the A15 may make it unsuitable for driving multi driver BAs. My files are from Jpop and...- shch13

SONY NWZ-A10 Series
I would go on a whim and just guess that the S Master HX on the Walkman A would make the difference compared to the Xperia phones. Perhaps even some of the EMI if any. And I base that on my experience with the Walkman E and Z as they did have a sizable difference, the E felt softer and...- shch13

Apple ME186FE/A In-Ear “Headphones” Review
I bought the previous revision last year, the dual BA drivers then was an all-ranger and a tweeter, not a woofer and tweeter. Guess that means we can expect a bit of a bass boost compared to the original.- shch13

Is it my source gear or the lossless file?
I've found a work-around. I've ripped the WAV file version of it and it cuts down on the screeching, on the player and also if listened to on PC. I've also ripped another version of it to 320 MP3 with LAME, and that also cuts down on the screeching, though not as much as the WAV.- shch13

Sennheiser Mx 475 (Mx 585 same drivers with mic)
I have the MX581, MX470 (which have the same relationship as the 475/585), and I've also bought the MX585. But I must say I didn't like the new 585's one bit. First of all they look ridiculous, I prefer the look of the 581/471 or the 580/470. The fitting is terrible on the 585, the MX365/375...- shch13

Is it my source gear or the lossless file?
Now of course Apple doesn't use FLAC, it uses ALAC (Apple Lossless), now I'm assuming based on research they are essentially the same, except for that one thing I picked up about ALAC being easier on battery life. I've played a FLAC file ripped from a CD (via Sony MediaGo) and placed it on my...- shch13
