Standard Modi 2. Tried the power management fix, didn't help.

I've tried this and sadly have had the same problem, which leads me to believe it's the DAC. I've also owned another Modi in the past which I never had a problem with. Same computer and laptop.

Thank you for your response. I have tried various other USB cables and ports, none of which have made a difference. What I would ask is how I could determine where exactly the problem lies. Is there a way to test ports in either my computer or in the Modi?

Seems like a bit of work...and it also seems like it's pretty much necessary considering the described sound improvement.   I don't think modding to that degree is for me, I'd be afraid to mess it up, or just to have not done it quite right.
