The WS99/WS77 PG 57..
Quote: The WS99s do great without an amp. They are really easy to drive and honestly I don't hear that much of a difference when amped. They will benefit from a clean signal though, so I would be more concerned with your DAC for these. The IPod should sound fine, but I'm not sure about your...- liquiflux

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Quote: I have a TiHD, so that may contribute to my bias, but I'll have to try some others. I do agree it can sound a bit unnatural at times. I'll have to experiment to see if there are more natural sounding options, especially for non-competitive games and movies. Quote: Very...- liquiflux

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
I just got some HD 598s and so far they are great for everything I want them to do. They are a neutral headphone but leave a lot of room to equalize to the sound you like. They're great for music, too. Quote: In the Battlefield video and the Mirrors Edge videos CMSS3D by far sounded...- liquiflux

The WS99/WS77 PG 57..
Quote: That's interesting you notice sibilance with these. To me there is none at all. Maybe I'm just used to other cans that hit the really high highs, but to me these are a relaxing break from more sibilant headphones. Quote: I had the same problem. There is a screw leading up...- liquiflux

The WS99/WS77 PG 57..
The WS99 is very comfortable, and is one of the most compact over the ear headphones. For mobile listening they are really great, but if you want them primarily for at-home use there are more comfortable options.- liquiflux

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Quote: Thanks for your thoughts. I'm torn between getting something customizable like the Lovely Cube or just going with something known to be clear and detailed like the Asgard 2. As for your headphone search, have you tried the HD 598? MLE gave it great reviews for positioning...- liquiflux

The WS99/WS77 PG 57..
I just picked up a pair of these and I must say I've been very satisfied with them so far. The bass is definitely present, but not overwhelming. They are very darkly colored. Still, they maintain clarity in the mids and the detail is good, especially at higher volumes. At very low volumes the...- liquiflux

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Quote: How do you like the Lovely Cube with the TiHD? Is it a big step up from just the TiHD on its own? I'm looking for a headphone amp now and wondering which amps would be a step up in clarity and soundstage. I also dislike harsh treble which is one of the complaints I've heard about...- liquiflux

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Thanks for the great thread Mad Lust Envy. I'm looking for an amp to pair with mostly with SR-850s and FA-011s, and whatever other headphones I end up getting down the line. I already have an X-Fi HD, which is great, but I think the FA-011s could benefit from some extra power. I'm considering...- liquiflux

Samson SR850 (Superlux OEM) Review: A $50 Budget Champion.
Quote: That looks like a really great setup for these. I have the SR850 with velours and love the detail and clarity. The soundstage is excellent for games and movies. I find the highs to be fatiguing after extended music listening, though, even when turned down in the equalizer. ...- liquiflux

The WS99/WS77 PG 57..
How do the WS99s compare to other Audio Technicas like the ES700s, AD900, and ESW9s when disregarding bass response? I'm thinking about getting the WS99s, but I'm not a basshead and really prefer clarity. That being said, I can appreciate some nice bass, as long as it is not overwhelming...- liquiflux

Looking for a fun set of headphones
The Q40s look like a great value for the money, but I've decided I want to go for something more portable, preferably something that can fold up like the Ultrasone Pro Series or Audio-Technica WS77/WS99. It seems like these are more bass-oriented headphones though, can anyone comment on their...- liquiflux

Looking for a fun set of headphones
My biggest concern is that the portables I get won't sound clear or good enough. I have some HD428s while I like the sound they just don't have the clarity or overall sound response and just end up feeling limited even compared to the sr850. I've been looking at the portables from Audio...- liquiflux

Best looking headphones
I have tried the steelseries, and it is comfortable, but the sound quality isn't that great. I saw the Philips Fidelio L1 recommended somewhere and don't know how it sounds, but it does look nice.- liquiflux

Looking for a fun set of headphones
I'm looking for a headphone that is a lot of fun to listen to. I don't necessarily care about accuracy, but I do care a lot about clarity. Right now I have the Samson SR-850s, and I really like their clarity, but they can get fatiguing. I want something that is portable and will at least sound...- liquiflux
