Xin order status???
Cool, glad to hear that he'll fulfill some orders soon. I hadn't heard anything about my December SuperMacro. I personally think he's a great guy and I've had the pleasure of sharing an e-mail or two with him. However, I haven't e-mailed him since 2002...- JGene

SuperMini Amp-a?
Indeed it is very small, however be careful what you plug it into because I am the one responsible for the 12/01 update on Xin's website: Quote: [12/01/01] Unlike an analogue volume control, a digital one cannot take more than its power supply voltage, i.e. 4.5V (-2.25 to +2.25) in this...- JGene

Just got my Sen 280Pro, what do I need to adjust
As stated above, burning them in takes about 100 hours. I hooked mine into my TV tuner on my computer and turned it to CNN. Somebody is always talking about something on that channel, so it'll keep the headphones constantly running. Be careful with the Sennheiser HD280s because mine broke the...- JGene

Help--Sennheiser HD-280 torn cable!
I'm going to try to send it back and get a replacement unit. I've had my headphones for less than 30 days, so I should be able to use their return policy. Just comes at a bad time to break my headphones--I'm home with my folks for Thanksgiving vacation and I was planning on doing some music...- JGene

Help--Sennheiser HD-280 torn cable!
Here's another picture of where the break is in. Anybody have any ideas? I just checked my Sennheiser manual and the only thing I saw was how to replace the coiled cable. I don't see anything about replacing the cable that goes to the right ear. Will I have to send my headphones back to...- JGene

Help--Sennheiser HD-280 torn cable!
Help! When I folded my Sennheiser HD-280 headphones the other day, I heard a snap and I noticed that the cable that connects to the right ear is now in two seperate pieces. I got the headphones from Amazon.com only two weeks ago. Can I get a replacement cable, and if so--where? I don't...- JGene

Best amp to use with HD280's?
The Sennheiser 280s sound pretty good, but it is critical that you burn them in first. The highs are all over the place for the first 20 hours during burn in. After 30 hours, the highs start to level out. At 50 hours, the bass becomes very apparent. At 100 hours, they just sound wonderful...- JGene

Best amp to use with HD280's?
No, I've only tried them with one amp. I'd love to hear a Meta42, but I'll stick with my Super Mini for a while to come- JGene

Supermini V3 on it's way!
I just got my Super Mini V3 today. I've been playing around with it and I like the sound quality a lot. The bass on my Sennheiser HD-280 headphones sounds bit tighter. Highs also sound very clear. I hooked up my Super Mini to my Nomad II and I was amazed that it could sound that good. I'm...- JGene

Just got my Sennheiser HD-280s
Yeah, I noticed the bass started to open up at about 15 hours, however it was starting to get very good at 50 hours. I've burned in my headphones for about 72 hours so far. I'll burn them in for another day and a half and then go it from there. I hook up my headphones to my USB sound card...- JGene

Headphones $0-$100
I've heard good things about the Koss Porta Pros, same with the Grado SR-60/80s. I went with the Sennheiser HD-280s, which I bought for $79 from Amazon. They provide some VERY good sound quality and clarity. I can't get over how much of a difference the headphones sound after about 40 hours of...- JGene

How much have you spent on headphone related equipment.
1. Sennheiser HD-280 Pro: $80 2. Super Mini V3: $90 (soon) Total: $170 Somewhere on down the line I think I'll go for a pair of Sennheiser HD-600s and a Meta-42, but I think I'll stick with what I've got for at least a year or two.- JGene

Grado SR-80s or Senn HD-497?
I just bought myself a pair of Sennheiser HD-280s. I got them for about $79 from Amazon.com. The bass is good, but they definately need to be burned in order for them to really shine. I also ordered a V3 Super-Mini from Fixup. Hopefully it'll be here in the next week or so and I'll really be...- JGene

Just got my Sennheiser HD-280s
Mark2002, you'll really like these headphones. Each time I listen to them after I've let them run for a while, they sound even better. In order to actually hear the difference, listen to about 10 songs when you first get them. Burn them in overnight and listen to the change in bass. Keep doing...- JGene

Just got my Sennheiser HD-280s
The clarity of these headphones are really amazing. I can hear individual musical instruments when you use them. I'm about 1/3 the way through burning them in. I plugged the headphone into my sound card and let it run over night. After 15 hours of non-stop music, the headphones are definately...- JGene
