Just mod my old iPod Video Gen 5 (not 5.5) with a 480G mSATA SSD.   Many old posts focused on Gen 5.5. So now my old iPod Gen 5 is also working with a Crucial M500 480G mSATA SSD.   Hope it helps.       Here are the pictures:
