Chromecast audio - can anyone comment on sound quality?
I wonder if there has been any consensus about what their "Full Dynamic Range" does? I read the stuff back on page one about "High Dynamic Range" but this leads me to wonder if Google's "Full Dynamic Range" actually means the exact opposite of "High Dynamic Range". That is, turning ON "Full...- TheCrusher

Galaxy S6 OEM earbuds
I recently upgraded my Galaxy S3 to an S6, and I'm really impressed with the earbuds that came with it. They sound very much on par with my JVC flats, perhaps even a bit better. Quite a bit better than the Philips she3695 I have (mic'ed version of 3680). They're far better than the s3 OEMs...- TheCrusher

V-MODA Crossfade M-80 Reviews
Does anybody know what happened to the Radio Shack deal on these, or the GameStop $50 price point? Are they temporarily out of stock or were they just dumping stock on something they'll no longer carry and I won't see these prices again? Thanks- TheCrusher

Portables with cord mic and controls under $50?
Here's some technical info for anyone that cares. Suppose this is your plug: | | cord [ ] ground [ ] mic [ ] right [ ] left V tip Listed there is the standard wiring of the connector, where standard means "Not Apple". Apple reverses the...- TheCrusher

Portables with cord mic and controls under $50?
Yeah the more I look the more I think you're correct. There's the headphone that comes with my S3, which you can find online, but not from any "official" source (e.g. Samsung and Verizon don't seem to sell it separately). I did also find this...- TheCrusher

The JVC HA-S500 thread.
Quote: I try to keep an open mind. Years ago, I had a ZX81 computer that had a membrane keyboard, and I added my own keyboard with real buttons. It didn't work without some slight modifications, because I used a very long cable, and the capacitance of the cable was interfering with...- TheCrusher

The JVC HA-S500 thread.
Quote: I've been interested in these because they're pretty much the ONLY inexpensive headphones out there with phone mic and remote. But I haven't seen any reviews. I can't even find any photos of what these look like on the head, in terms of scale.- TheCrusher

Portables with cord mic and controls under $50?
Huh. It looks like this product almost doesn't exist, at least from a reputable name. The JVC SR500 comes pretty close. It's a little bulkier but still looks pretty small (why don't they put a ruler in their photos, or provide a photo of it being worn??). I don't know how the sound would...- TheCrusher

Portables with cord mic and controls under $50?
Under $50 for now. The more under, the better. Maybe I should say more about what I want in terms of audio. I listen to rock, jazz, blues, funk, and classical. I want to hear everything. All the parts. All the instruments. Solid bass that sounds big but doesn't overwhelm, mids that...- TheCrusher

Portables with cord mic and controls under $50?
Hi, I'm new here. I've just taken my first steps into the world of headhpones that don't completely suck with the purchase of a pair of JVC Flats (HAS160). They sound fantastic to me. So naturally I want to ruin all that by getting something even better. No wait. I ordered them...- TheCrusher
