Tried the Koss Portapro
So...I tried the Koss Portapro. Immediately...didn't like them. I have a large head and they were tight on me, even when the headband was extended to it's maximum. (I even tried the Sennheiser PX 100 - it clamped on me so tight that my ears felt like they were going to bleed) Plus...- SilverBlade

Koss Portapro....for exercise?
I've been looking for decent headphones to use while exercising (elliptical/treadmill/weights) plus, these would be worn while I'm at work. I used to use the Sennheiser PMX-60 as they were comfortable to wear for hours and hours without my ears feeling like they are bleeding. I tried the...- SilverBlade

Volume control for SPDIF output?
Back in January, I purchased KRK speakers for my computer, they sound amazing. This past week I ordered an iMac 27 inch. I also read that using SPDIF from the iMac locks the volume at 100%, so I need some way to control the volume. I know that the KRK's have volume control's at the back...- SilverBlade

Took the plunge
I took the plunge and purchased 2 KRK Rokit-Powered G2 speakers to replace my 10 yr old Sony stereo for use with my computer. After 2 days, I am amazed at how much better they sound over the old stereo. Even out of the box, they sounded SO much more superior than any stereo I've heard. I...- SilverBlade

Fubar IV plus or Dacmagic
I was originally going to purchase a Cambridge Audio Dacmagic from a local dealer, but then I came across the Fubar IV Plus Dac. Both DAC's have the ability to 'upsample' to 192khz. The Fubar IV Plus costs roughly $200 less than the Dacmagic (in my area, anyways), but Cambridge Audio is a...- SilverBlade

Is this a "good" setup?
After reading the forums over a few times looking for solutions, I think I have a very good idea what of what my next computer speaker system will be. Here's how the sound would go with my upgrade: Computer > USB > Dacmagic > Behringer MON800 (For volume control/headphones) > KRK RP-5 G2...- SilverBlade

Looking at these possible setups
I am looking at two possible setups: 1) Cambridge Audio Dacmagic > T.C Electronic Level Pilot (for volume control) > KRK RP-5 G2 Powered Monitor (x2) OR 2) E-Mu 404 USB > KRK RP-5 G2 Powered Monitor (x2) If I go with option one, the Dacmagic is literally twice as expensive as the...- SilverBlade

Volume control with DAC's and monitors
Since most DAC's don't have volume control, and most studio monitors do not have volume control, what do most of you guys use, besides the computer volume settings, to control the volume? I'd like an external way of controlling the volume. Would I need an amp for that? or a receiver? I know I'm...- SilverBlade

Advice needed on future setup
Currently, I have a 9 year old Sony MHX-GX20 stereo working as my computer speakers. They sound terrific to me. They have also survived moving into 4 houses and still sound good. Best headphones for portable use?
My older headphones have lost their foam cups, and since Christmas is coming up, I have an excuse to ask for a new pair. What are the best headphones for portable use? waste of money? or good investment?
In the near future, I am planning on purchasing a new car stereo, since the one I have is old and can't even read *pressed* CD's anymore. My solution is this: KDC-MP332 + KCA-iP500 ipod interface + 2 gig iPod nano. the iPod would *only* be used for the car. Would this be a waste of money...- SilverBlade

Any point in resisting integrated batteries?
Just as the title says..*is* there much point in resisting mp3 players with integrated batteries? More and more new ones coming out have them, less and less have AA or AAA batteries. Soon you won't be able to find any mp3 players which use AA or AAA batteries, aside from people selling on ebay.- SilverBlade
