any chance to have someone to write a brief guide on how to do the flash? i know how to flash rom for fiio x5 III, DX160.... is the step similar ?

I am using the custom kernel from https://kernelmods.com/#stable_x5iii_ck For fidlizer, I don't think it will give you the kind of performance gain as the custom kernel.

After installing Lurker's firmware add-on, is there anything I need to do so that my dx160 acts as a USB DAC? I installed the driver, connect dx160 to my PC, set the USB mode as transferring fuke, then turn on the DAC mode in mango player. but my windows10 just cannot recognise the device.

simply install the standard one (medium speed), if it does not work, then install the slower clock speed one. if it works and if you insist in getting it running as fast as possible, then install the highest clock speed one. Otherwise, just enjoy!

If I remember correctly, when X5 iii is plugged into USB and bootloader mode is started, the X5 iii screen will still be black. Yet, you should see 'Found One Loader Device' in your PC app.

I have flashed the vanilla 1.2.1 firmware, then upgraded to 1.2.2 and played songs for an hour or os. Then I installed jkbuha's kernel and played songs for another hour. Everything works and I do not aware of any temperature difference after installing the kernel.

one interesting finding after using the latest kernel from jkbuha is that the FiiO music app work fine in Music Mode. I am not sure if the app works in original firmware but it just crashes when I tried that earlier
