Review by 'ngominhhoang132' on item 'DROP + DAN CLARK AUDIO AEON OPEN X HEADPHONES'

This headphone has a M-shaped frequency response, with mid-bass and lower-treble most emphasized. Tone is just a bit warm but not as warm as HD650. In terms of resolving, imo it is slightly better than HD650, probably on par with LCD3, but worse than Beyer T1 and HE6. Vocals are good but not...

T70 is way brighter than T1 and has way less bass, with a sub-bass that is almost non-existent

This review is spot on. This headphone truly lacks bass and a bit too bright in the treble. Works great with genres like acoustic, vocal, dream pop though.. Terrible with other genres. It is really comfortable for a closed headphone

Hd6xx blows 598 out of the water imo. Cleaner, less grainy mid. Stronger, more defined bass (still almost no sub-bass). Less muted treble. 6xx has smaller soundstage though

I think hd598 would work best with an OTL tube amp to add more dynamic to the music and more oomph in the bass

Review by 'ngominhhoang132' on item 'HIFIMAN ANANDA'

This headphone is a little bit bright with elevated upper-mid (less bright than HD800). Soundstage is good (i think it is about as good as as DT880's). This headphone is relatively easy going, i think what it excels the most at is being quite detailed and fast without getting fatiguing or too...

Review by 'ngominhhoang132' on item 'Sennheiser HD 800 Headphones'

I think this headphone pairs better with an OTL tube amp (in my case, Xduuo TA-26) than a SS amp (Schiit Ragnarok 2). When plugged in Rag 2, it sounds thin, too bright and lacks bass. TA-26 makes it sound more lively and tames the prominent upper-mid spike (around 4-5Khz) a bit. I think another...

Review by 'ngominhhoang132' on item 'Audeze LCD-3 Planar Magnetic Headphone'

If you like your music sound life-like, sweet and warm, this pair of HPs is a no brainer Not really pros or cons: - Intimate soundstage (think HD650) - Will not pair well with OTL tube amp. A powerful SS amp would help LCD3 reach its full potential - Very good for rock, pop and bass-focused...

Review by 'ngominhhoang132' on item 'Audeze LCD2 Classic'

With EQing, maybe this headphone may work well. I personally prefer not to use EQ so I had to let LCD2C go.. LCD2C is not great for classical, jazz, folk and acoustic music in general but good for genres that require big bass (think EDM, some types of rock, pop, etc.)

    Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread

Yeah, LCD3 with Ragnarok in low gain (Schiit states that would be in class A mode) just sounds so sweet so good

I think you should always try to use low gain because of lower noise/signal ratio

    Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread

Btw, I run both LCD3 and LCD2C from Yggy OG & Ragnarok 2. Maybe it is also because of good synergy between LCD3 and the system :L3000: :L3000:

Thank you for the kind words. Yeah the LCD3 is indeed the sweet medicine that I have been craving for the last 4 months.

    Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread

For the last 4 months, I have been using LCD2C instead of LCD3 and the magic is gone: guitar loses the plucking sound, piano and vilion dont sound as smooth, female voices lose the trembling feeling, drums sound bloated and not very realistisc, I think bass has muscles but lacks texture, music...

Audeze LCD-2C Classic - Impressions Thread

Imo, the 2C is not that much different from the 3 (pre-fazor). A bit more bass quantity, a bit more recessed treble, a bit less details, a bit more prominent on vocals

    Hiby WH2 compatible tips

I bought a pair of TWS foam tips (if I remember correctly, they are by Dekoni, the shortest ones by them) and cut the tips a bit so they fit decently in the case. Maybe silicon tips are not my taste after all. For me, nothing beat foam tips on isolation and bass quantity

    Schiit Ragnarok Amplifier

To clarify last post, LCD3 bass is still much faster than a dynamic can though. It is just not as fast as mid tier or higher Hifimans

    Schiit Ragnarok Amplifier

Yeah i agree. The bass on Lcd3 running balanced from Rag 2 is phenomenal. It is authorative yet natural and detailed, though not as fast as bass on a Hifiman (luckily, bass speed is not my priority)

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I actually come from LCD3s. I bought Hd6xx as replacement when my LCD3s died. Yeah both have very sweet midrange, but 6xx has more prominent mids. I guess the 2s has more emphasis on mid than the 3s

Not much lower bass, especially compared to planars. But the mid is very sweet. I find the bass improve with pleather pads

its kinda funny that the Rag 2 feels less hot than the Yggy 2 analog

    Hiby WH2 compatible tips

Yeah Sedna gives better sound quality than the Spinfit one but as soon as the fit is not perfect, the sound seriously lacks bass and lower mid. And I have problem with maintaining a perfect seal for more than 2 minutes. The gym I work out at turns the music volume so loud so it is not really useable

    Hiby WH2 compatible tips

I found the case design very intriguing. If they just make the case a little bit bigger, i can fit foam tips inside the case. Just a little bit bigger.. To me, foam tips just sound superior to both the Spinfit and Sedna tips

Well someone has same experience as mine. Guess I am not a tube person. With the tube preamp, the mid (mostly upper mid) is a bit more magnified compared to bass and treb also
