  Indeed.  The YouTube video accompanying the article is also worth watching.  I hadn't considered the descriptor "authoritative" for the amp, but I think it makes sense.   I also must say I'm interested in trying out the HE-1000s and the modified HD-800s now, after watching both this video...

My warm-up period has also just begun.  No listening impressions yet.

  I'm sure others have the combo and can weigh in, but I've had a GS-X MkII for a few months, and my Yggdrasil is out for delivery today -- so maybe I can give you some initial post-warm-up thoughts in a couple weeks.  :)

Right on.  Mine is out for delivery, too.

According to FedEx, the Yggdrasil arrives tomorrow.  I have genuine curiosity about how it will perform over its extended warm-up.

There are no reproducible peer-reviewed results that indicate that cable material makes any difference whatsoever.  That should tell you what you need to know.   Rational reasons to buy a replacement cable include comfort, getting a customized length, and aesthetics.  I bought one for these...

  Heya, preproman.  Assembling the picture from various threads, but the rig you're working on is GS-X mk2 + Bricasti M1 + HE1k, is that right?  Assuming you have all the pieces in place, how's it sounding?

  This is the kind of experience I'm having with the GS-X Mk2.

  For starters, I'm still using the Source DAC.  Just to be clear about that.   Here's where I'm at right now, and I'm sorry if this drifts a little off-topic:   Upgrading the amp has made a noticeable difference.  Not nearly as potent as the difference in headphones, of course, but...

  I can validate that the GS-X Mk2 is a damn fine, even gorgeous, pairing with the LCD-X.

  Right on.  Thanks for the tip.  Yeah, the amp is definitely warmer than the power supply side.

  A ton of context is available from reading back in the thread.  My Headamp GS-X Mk2 was delivered about 3.5 minutes ago.  There are some indications that amp might be borderline acceptable with the LCD-X, I think.
