Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread
Just ordered the LCD-3 and Mjolnir amp. Grabbed an Anedio D2 last month and i'm hoping that everything works well together. I'll be sure to post my thoughts in two weeks when everything is in!- Appless

New Audeze LCD3
Looking to buy a pair of these online and have them shipped to canada. Audeze is saying it will be a month or two before they have them back in stock and i'd rather not wait. Where is a good place to order these from online?- Appless

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3
Interested to see what comes of this Uncle. Let us know if it improves over time and which component you think it could be causing the problem for you. Curious because i was about to order this combo with a M51. Seems like the DAC, but ya never know.- Appless

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3
Quote: I can see myself having the LCD-3 and only that for a long time. Until i can find a headphone that i enjoy more and i feel is worth the cost. Really, i just want the best possible setup for the LCD-3 that suits my taste in music. I'd like the amp/DAC in total, to cost no more then...- Appless

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3
Everything is leaning towards buying the Mjolnir and a nicer DAC but whenever i see deals i find it hard not to consider them There is a LF on Head-fi for 2000$ and a GS-X for around 1800. The LF is really tempting but almost everyone seems to think that the MJ and LCD-3 sound great together...- Appless

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3
It seems you're right. It really is all subjective and there is hardly any piece of gear that is automatically better then another. Makes getting into this hobby hard when it's impossible to demo anything.- Appless

Quote: I was hoping you'd chime in at some point . Would love to hear your thoughts on the MJ vs the other amps heard. Sadly, it seems you've never had the chance to use one.- Appless

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3
Quote: Opinions was probably the wrong word to use. It may be subjective but the more you pay for gear the better is should be,( not talking about 1000$ to 1500$) such as the liquid fire compared to the Mjolnir. 9/10 times wouldn't a person with both pieces of gear, listening to the same...- Appless

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3
Prep have you heard the GS-X 1 with the lcd3s yet, or are you just waiting for your mark2? I've been lurking on here pretty religiously for the past 3 weeks and most of you that post often seem to have pretty differing tastes. I guess there are very few objective opinions when it to most...- Appless

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3
From what paradox is saying, the octave is much better then the NAD M51. Anyone have a second opinion on this? Also if the Gungnir is the weak point in the LCD-3/Mjolnir/Gungnir combo, would upgrading to the NAD or the Octave be my best bet? Seems like from the sounds of it the GS-X isn't...- Appless

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3
I should probably restate what i was asking. I have the option to get the Mjolnir or GS-X for a pair of LCD-3s. The price isn't really a factor hear since i can just tack my pre-amp budget onto the GS-X. Everyone has great things to say about these amps and i honestly have no idea which one to...- Appless

How much of an upgrade is the GS-X from the Mjolnir? There's one on that's around 600$ cheaper http://www.head-fi.org/t/645536/fs-headamp-gs-x-balanced-amp-first-gen-priced-to-sell- Appless

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3
Looking to buy a DAC and amp for LCD-3's. Have roughly 1800 to spend give or take. After reading this thread and a few more it seems like the Gungnir and Mjolnir are the best bet for my budget. I was wondering though, are there any all in one DAC/amp's that would be a better choice...- Appless

Intro to HiFi
Quote: I've read quite a few threads on here and a lot of people seem to think that with the Mjolnir and a DAC like the Gungnir/BHA-1 still sound great with the LCD-3. Thing is that i can always upgrade the amp if i run into some money again. I like treble just as much as bass. If...- Appless

Quote: I'm not looking at this as a single direction, i'm trying to get the best bang for my buck with the money i have available based on my listening preferences. Breaking into the world of HiFi
In regards to going to one of the meet ups, i live in Nova Scotia so there really is no way for me to get to one. Also kinda sucks that we have almost no HiFi audio stores here so there isn't anyway to demo any gear ether .- Appless

Thanks for all the info guys, anything helps. I was directed to the summit-fi forums so I've also posted this there. No response yet so i'll leave this one up for the time being. It makes sense to start in an affordable range and then work up from there. Most people do say that it's...- Appless
