HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!

I'm thinking of buying the HiBy R6 with the HiBy Seeds, primarily due to them being balanced. Any ideas on what they sound like, and if they're worth the extra $80? I'm used to earphones that sound like the EPH-100s from Yamaha. I like balanced sound signature with a hint of bass.

@Joe Bloggs It is very comforting to see that you guys at HiBy care about these threads and pay attention to customer feedback. You went above and beyond by showing a little technical support with a post or two there too! That's an encouraging thing for me in regards to purchasing this DAP...

The headphones that I have can't be equipped with any balanced cables. The headphones I use are HD 380 Pro, EPH-100, and Samsung earphones tuned by AKG.

Okay. Is there any way to use regular headphones (3.5mm TRS) with balanced outputs (2.5mm TRRS)? Yes, I'm a noob!

I think I'm locked onto buying the HiBy R6. Is there any real benefit to buying the stainless steel version versus the aluminum alloy version? Obviously it's more rugged, but are there any other reasons to spend the extra $50? Also, I had linked this earlier and was wondering if it would work...

    Pioneer XDP-300R | Twin DAC ES9018K2M | Balanced Out | Android | MQA | 2x MicroSD | WiFi | AptX

Thank you for enlightening me. I really didn't know what it meant, but I do understand now. If I were to ever use balanced mode, would the following adapter work? https://penonaudio.com/audio-cable/3.5mm-cable/silver-plated-hi-fi-balanced-adapter.html

Hence, why I shouldn't be forced to use 2.5mm balanced versus the regular 3.5mm jack. If there's going to be two DACs in the DAP, then they should work with both outputs. I really don't even know what balanced versus regular output means anyways. Judging by the numbers though, there shouldn't be...

    Pioneer XDP-300R | Twin DAC ES9018K2M | Balanced Out | Android | MQA | 2x MicroSD | WiFi | AptX

I was talking about using the balanced jack in order to take advantage of both DACs. That's also upsetting though.

If that's the case, I will not consider this DAP or its Onkyo variants. Pretty messed up that they don't mention that anywhere.

I understand. If I were not to purchase the HiBy R6, should I purchase the XDP-300R, DP-X1, or the DP-X1A? Sorry for asking a lot of questions, but I'm new to the DAP world. This would be my first DAP purchase ever. So, it'd be nice to have something worthy of being a smartphone replacement...

"Here you see a 1kHz square wave signal sampled at 192kHz, being put out by a music app on android. On usual Android devices this signal would be resampled and mixed into the fixed 48kHz system audio stream, producing a digital output to the DAC like the upper picture. Whereas on the R6, DTA...

Yes. Hence, both DAPs have these features. The HiBy R6 would do it better I suppose due to it bypassing Android's SRC in most applications. I'm not sure if Pioneer's offering does this though. I'm actually wondering what battery life looks like between the two while using the internet and...

Hey all, I've been trying to figure out which DAP to get. I've been looking at the HiBy R6 and the Pioneer XDP-300R. Which one would you recommend getting? I asked this question in the HiBy R6 thread, but there seems to be more traffic here. Thank you for your time...

Yes! That's a good way of putting it. Actually, I was tempted to get the 6th generation iPod Touch. I have nothing against Apple, but I have a hard time navigating their OS on both mobile and desktop so that's not an option for me. I understand what you're saying though. Really, I would like to...

Hello all, I've recently been in the hunt for a DAP, and I've been doing endless amounts of research on what's out there and what would fit me best. Really, I'm not too picky with what's out there. I want a smartphone replacement without cellular capabilities. I've been eyeballing the Pioneer...

Best PMP for $400-500 and Below

Thank you for your time again guys. I would appreciate other people's opinions too though! I've been doing research for hours, and finally stumbled upon the Pioneer XDP-300R ($400 on Amazon), also known as the Onkyo DP-X1A ($480 on Amazon). I really think that the XDP-300R is my best bet from...

Any IEMs Similar to EPH-100 by Yamaha?

Any insight as to how the GR07 Bass Edition sounds in comparison to the EPH-100 by Yamaha? I've looked around for reviews, but there isn't much comparing of the two.

Any IEMs Similar to EPH-100 by Yamaha?

I don't want anything with too much bass that's just booming. For example, I've sat in cars that had huge amounts of bass for no reason with the subs just booming. I would rather have balanced sound with the sound signature inclined towards the bass side.

Any IEMs Similar to EPH-100 by Yamaha?

Hello all, I was wondering if there are any IEMs similar to the EPH-100, but with a little more bass. I've read that the GR07 from VSonic is similar, but that it has sharp highs sometimes. So, I was eyeing that GR07 Bass Edition set. Can anyone give an accurate description as to how these two...
