Sony NW-A50 Series
Found an a55l half off, do y'all reckon it's worth it compared to, say, a shanling q1 at roughly the same price or a hidizs ap80 pro x at almost twice that price? Also I read somewhere that iem hiss is an issue with this thing, can anyone confirm?- NotLordAtkin

AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player
Hello hi so this might sound like a weird question but I've been looking into semi-affordable DAPs as a way of getting something that plays FLACs a lil' better than a smartphone and the AP80 Pro-X seems like the most highly recommended thing under 200 euros (or rather exactly at 200). Thing is I...- NotLordAtkin

FiiO FD1 - 10mm 1DD IEM
It's true they are ridiculously sensitive, I run them at about half the volume compared to my other headphones. The white noise is not a huge issue but it can be noticeable with some songs more than others (especially more ambient stuff); for example it introduces a lot of hiss to the soundtrack...- NotLordAtkin

FiiO FD1 - 10mm 1DD IEM
so I get this quiet white noise on my new pair when plugged into pretty much anything; just how much of it there is depends on the device but it stays constant so louder music drowns it out but it's very noticeable at night when the volume is low. It's always there on my laptop and the switch...- NotLordAtkin

FiiO FD1 - 10mm 1DD IEM
has anyone compared these to the cheaper KZ buds? is there much of a difference in sound quality to justify the price difference? I'm very inclined to grab these, just don't want to commit before I've considered all my options.- NotLordAtkin

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
Sup nerds, can I get a reccommendation out of you? I'm looking for some halfway decent cheap IEMs for casual listening after my ancient Denon 560Rs ended up in the wash and fell apart. I was looking at KZ ZSN Pro X at first because that's the one the funny australian youtube man pointed out but...- NotLordAtkin

Will FiiO E11 perform with these?
So here's the deal. I'm using Samsung Galaxy S2 with my new Beyerdynamic COP headphones. My knowledge of the technology behind headphones is quite limited but from what I've heard, the 16-Ohm drivers on my headphones should be able to work alright with phones and MP3 players without...- NotLordAtkin

Anyone found their headphone nirvana yet?
I've probably haven't really gotten deep enough into the hobby but I haven't found headphones that fit my personal preference of how I listen to them (smartphone, no amp) and at the same time have better sound quality than Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro. It was love at first sight hearing. There...- NotLordAtkin

Buying portable or in-ear headphones? Seeking guidance? DON'T START A NEW THREAD. Ask for advice HERE!
Anyone knows of good IEMs that I can use as an alternative to full-sized headphones for the times when I can't drag them around? Anything with clear and fun sound for $20-$50 will do. The ones I've stumbled onto so far are Nuforce NE770X. Are they any good? or would you recommend different...- NotLordAtkin

Hd solo beats jack
it doesn't really matter which end of the cable you put in your headphones. the end that you jam in your player is only shaped differently so that it does not stick out and is less prone to break when you put the player in your pocket. otherwise, it's the same 3,5 inch jack on both ends. you...- NotLordAtkin

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
Can anyone think of good (preferably circamaural) headphones to replace Beats Studio with? I'd like headphones with sound quality that is superior to that of Beats enough to justify the purchase. I'd also like them to be well-ballanced, I'm sort of sick of overbearing bass by now. the price...- NotLordAtkin

Constructive "Anti-Beats" headphone discussion
Say, how do Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro stack up? I visited this retailer and tried them out (along with Denon D1100- bass was even stronger than on beats, overal sound quality felt a lot better but I've grown sick of bass overpowering everything else by now) and I thought they were in a...- NotLordAtkin

Constructive "Anti-Beats" headphone discussion
Well then. I've noticed a trend here. Many of you are being nice and helpful and recommend people headphones that they can get for half the price, which are comparable to Beats in sound quality. Which is commendable. However, what do you tell people who already own them? What should they upgrade...- NotLordAtkin

Headphones you regretted buying the most
This might be a bit too obvious but Beats Studio. The problem with Beats is the ratio of quality/price. You can get better headphones for half the price and I would discourage anyone who's thinking about picking them up. Unfortunately, it's much harder to justify buying a different set...- NotLordAtkin

Review by 'NotLordAtkin' on item 'Beats Studio by Dr. Dre - Hi-Def Noise-Canceling Over-Ear Headphones'
I've got to hand it to Monster - as mediocre as these headphones are, they've done a bloody good job marketing them. No other brand of headphones has developed such a cult following. They are just about the only brand that's easily recognisable by pretty much every organic life form on the...- NotLordAtkin

Question about Denon AH-D1100
Hi, I'm thinking about buying Denon AH-D1100 headphones but I've come across several reviews on amazon in which people complain about its build quality a lot. How much truth is there to this? Do they really snap after two months of careful use, as some of the people on there claimed? I...- NotLordAtkin
