KEF LSX wireless all-in-one stereo bookshelf/desktop speakers

My KEF LS50W desktop speakers are pretty overpowering when only a couple of feet away so I'm thinking of getting the LSX and moving the LS50W as living room speakers and giving it room to breath. Also, the LS50W is huge for a desktop. And I've had problems using long Ethernet cables...

    What computer speakers to get?

I've listened to and owned many different 2.0 speakers from 3" to 5" and size made the biggest difference. Even the low priced LSR305 sounded good compared to expensive same sized ones such as the KEF LS50W. Maybe I'm not that picky but the differences were not massive. When you start reaching...

    [unboxing] KEF LS50 Wireless

Around the 16:00 is relevant to the discussion but the rest is good too. Also the ELAC Argo B51 Wireless is looking to compete with the LS50W.

Why is high end music gear mostly the realm of men?

I generally agree with this but the reason I brought up this topic is because I keep reading about the emotional experiences of music that high end equipment bring about and it's almost comical that they're always described by men. A lot of women might not be interested in all the technical...

Why is high end music gear mostly the realm of men?

I haven't seen any reviews of the MKII but they are likely similar since they are in the same line and are still priced the same as when the MKI was released. It has a more consumer look though, which is likely JBL's recognition of how a lot of these studio monitors were sold probably. Also, I...

Why is high end music gear mostly the realm of men?

Even if it's husbands doing all the research, I know women appreciate high fidelity. I definitely appreciate seeing females here. But almost every review and video of what I've been researching (JBL 305P MkII, KEF LS50W, Audioengine HD6) have been by men. Good sound is good sound so I don't...

Why is high end music gear mostly the realm of men?

I've been researching upgrading my computer speakers to higher fidelity powered bookshelves. In my research, I've scoured various forums and reviews, and notice that so far, virtually all the content is from men. And by virtually, I mean completely. I know many women appreciate high fidelity...

Am I just unlucky or do high end IEMs have bad cables?

I recently purchased a couple of higher end IEMs and have just been experiencing problems with the cables within days of using them.   Astrotec AX60: left earphone was a little bit quieter and then barely audible. Hifiman RE-600: right earphone not audible when the cable is in certain...

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

I purchased them from Amazon. They were one of the first ones to show the sale. No tax and no shipping. It didn't take very long.   I'm hoping the indented/collapsed filter isn't an issue.Just seems fragile compared to metal ones.

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

I just got the RE-600 a few days ago from the $200 sale and I noticed the filter cover on the nozzle is collapsed in a little bit. There are also small strands of cloth sticking out. Is this normal? It looks pretty delicate compared to the metal filters on the DUNU-2000 that I have.

    VSonic GR07 Bass Edition Impressions

I just got the 600 (not s) so still getting used to them. They don't provide very good tips and it sounded fairly poor with the default tips. Only when putting on the comply foam tips did things pick up. I'll just say for now that owners of the GR07 have good IEMs in their hands for such a...

    VSonic GR07 Bass Edition Impressions

My BE's cable went bad on the left ear after a little more than 1 year of moderate use, about 5 hours a week or so. I probably won't re-cable them at the moment since I have the Hifiman RE-600 that I just got for the $200 sale but do understand why warawara wanted to re-cable them. If these...

Dunu DN-2000 - Hybrid Impressions Thread (It's Here!)

I just got these a few days ago and am still getting used to them.   One thing that people should be aware is the barrel of the 2000 is pretty large. The GR07 was my main IEM before this and fit fairly well, but these barely fit. If I make a tight seal, it hurts my ear canals after an hour or...

Step up IEM's from the VSonic GR07 BE $300-$400 range.

My VSonic GR07 BE seems to have a cabling problem. Left speaker cuts in and out. And only after a year. Disappointing.    Anyway, I'm looking to get a step up model in the $300-$400 range. I have both the GR07 MK2 and GR07 BE and prefer the BE for the extra bass. Models I'm looking at are...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

I have both the MK II and BE and even though I'm not the audiophile a lot of folks here are, I can easily tell the difference between the two. They've both been burned more than 50 hours. The BE's I got first so they have been burned in longer.   First, I will say that both headphones need a...

    VSonic GR07 Bass Edition Impressions

I received the GR07 BE a few days ago and have been trying out all of the different tips and configurations to see how it performs. This is my first IEM that cost over $150 US and is a move-up from what I have (VModa Vibe and Kplisch Image S4 when they were $80, and SoundMagic E10 $35, and that...

[REVIEW] VSONIC GR07 – Labor of Love

I'd be interested in a comparison between the MKII and BE too. The way some of the back and forth goes on in these MKII vs BE threads go, it seems they are almost different IEMs to some folks while other reviewers say the differences are pretty subtle. Are they really that different that a...

HEADPHONE MEET at the Headmaster in San Francisco 8/10/2013

Quote: Excellent. Haven't been to a headphone meetup yet. Is there generally a good way of keeping things sanitary people like to do such as bringing a bottle of alcohol? I don't mind people trying out my VSonics, but don't want to come home with their earwax.

HEADPHONE MEET at the Headmaster in San Francisco 8/10/2013

I'm in the South Bay and am potentially interested. Most of my equipment is in the $100-$200 range. Getting a VSonic GR07 MKII and/or BE. Have a FiiO E17. I also have some speakers (Swan M200 MKIII and AudioEngine A5+) but if I go I'll likely take BART/Muni so probably can't bring the speakers.

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

Quote: I don't find mp4nation to be reliable. They might not be dishonest but are not reliable. They list the GR07 BE on sale but after I ordered it, I have been waiting almost 4 weeks for it and they charged my Paypal right when I made the order. I e-mailed them and they said they are...

    The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..

These tips are the same (at least they look the same) as the SoundMagic E10 but I swapped them just to try it and didn't hear much improvement. I then swapped them with larger silicone tips that came with another set of IEMs I bought and because of the better seal, it was improved. I still don't...

    The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..

I ordered two of these after reading this thread when I needed to order some other cables and even after giving it a few days to allow it to burn, I am really perplexed at the glowing reviews of this product. I a/b tested these against my $30 Soundmagic E10. The sound coming from the 8320 are...
