Nah, the first pair had to be superglued together twice until the left ear died, and then I paid for a replacement, which then had to be superglued back together 3 times. They both had bad cable issues too. I'd prefer closed but I'm considering semi or open... I just really don't want to hear...

My pair of headphones for the last 7 years have been the Shure SRH840s, known for their neutrality. I like them a lot, but the durability on them is garbage (looking for preferably metal connections on the cups). I could accept a bit more bass. bonus points for cyber monday deals I almost got...

This used to belong to my dad. I'm wondering if I'd be able to connect it to my computers to play some large floor speakers or headphones through, or if it could be connected to my sound card with an amp (sound blaster z). I don't actually know what it is and have no way of directly sending...

How good is the amp? I was willing to spend about $160 on a card + amp, but that's only $100   and it's only 5.1; I have little knowledge about this stuff but I want to start using virtual surround sound for gaming, which I would think would prefer 7.1

I'm not sure how cables work when you want to use both an amp and a soundcard (can someone clear that up?)   I have SRH840s and I'm looking to upgrade from my basic Creative soundcard I'm looking at the Xonar DX soundcard, but I'm not sure about an amp I probably don't want to spend more...

I have 35GB and 6000 songs at the moment   I've listened to 90+% of them and it's 80+% electronic, mostly non-commercial songs or musicians

I'm looking for closed & neutral headphones that are sufficiently comfortable for 10-14 hours of use per day I'm hard-pressed to go higher than $160, but would enjoy seeing at least some options closer to 80-140   I listen almost exclusively to many varieties of electronic and instrumental...
