Where's the detail?
Well I was once a head-fi addict and since "upgraded" to speakers. My setup is ALC889A onboard optical out -> HK3490 -> a pair of Infinity Beta 20s. The ALC889A can output 24/192 so I assumed it was decent and also assumed optical out is optical out. But it never sounded right. It just sounded...- muckluck

Bulletproof?
Hey guys, I need durable over the head headphones that aren't expensive. That's pretty much it. I prefer everything to be tight. My favorite setup that I've ever heard was my SA3000 hooked up to my Little Dot. My problem is I have no idea where to start. Headphones always seem to break...- muckluck

ER6i vs im716 vs im616
I feel cheated.. I got excited when I saw the ER6is on Amazon for only 60$, and so I ordered them right away. However, I forgot about the im716s and looked them up and they are 60$ too. Now, which is the better buy? I read that the im716 is 90% of the ER4, and I assume that makes it better than...- muckluck

DT860 vs AD900 vs HD595. Which one to get?!
Sorry for being a pest, What phones have the best reproduction of male vocals. The mellow stuff like Dylan, Tom Waits, Marley(s), Peter Tosh and Marvin Gaye. I really don't like my Grados, so I tend to avoid those. I'm scared Senns are going to be too laid back, and haven't heard much about ATs...- muckluck

Speaker recommendation
Hey all. Well my mom likes to sing a long to music, and likes her music loud enough to the point where she can't hear herself sing. She would like to run them from the cheap Panasonic 1000W 5.1 setup into the kitchen so she can cook and clean while blasting music. All they need to do is be...- muckluck

Jazz, R&B, and Reggae 'phones?
Been awhile, Anyway. What do you guys recommend? I was thinking along the lines of the open AD series from Audio Technica. I just want something easily driven, open, and laid back without being boring. Preferably under 250. The cheaper the better. Thanks guys, muckluck.- muckluck

GP2x
Has anyone written a good review on the sound quality of the gp2x? I mean if it really has a 100mw output then it is capable of driving a lot of headphones. I would love to play old SNES and Genesis games on the go, and if it plays music and videos with good quality headphone output then I'm sold.- muckluck

Newly released ipods are gapless
The newest release ipods and itunes seven has a new feature, gapless playback. Think this will become the new Rio Karma? Except with a much bigger fan base. Is there another choice for portable audiophiles now?- muckluck

Spanish phone manners...
Does anyone know how to ask for someone specific in Spanish. Like if I were to call and ask "Can I speak to Jennifer?" what would I say? I have the spanish vocabulary of a 5 year old, so my spanish is limited.- muckluck

Juli@ problems... :(
As soon as Windows loads the drivers for the Juli@ a loud static can be heard on the right channel. I've tried muting it, rebooting the PC, made sure it wasn't my amp, and don't know where to go from here. Can you please help me. I'm hoping the issue isn't with the physical card itself...- muckluck

Little Dot II+ and SR225
Is it worth the money? I listen to rock music 90% of the time, Jazz 9%, and classical 1% of the time. What I really want is an up front, "in your face", feel and great detail/ instrument seperation. I don't have the time to go and audition headphones, so these little threads are helpful...- muckluck

Radiohead.
Alright, people worship this band. I tell people that I do not find Radiohead to be all that good, and they act like I commited a mortal sin. The truth is, I can't stand to listen to O.K. Computer for more than 5 minutes. It makes me want to go to sleep. Am I the only one who finds Radiohead... -
Having a cold, and getting a new set of cans...
As luck would have it I get a bad head cold as soon as my A700s arive in from Japan. I was just curious, but does having clogged sinuses effect how good a pair of headphones sounds? Because I am loving my new A700s, and if they sound better when the cold ends (and are burnt in a little more) I...- muckluck

Recommendations?
Ok, I only have $200 to spend, and I'm new to the hi-fi scene. As stated on my previous thread, I was planning to get DT880s, but my budget kinda shrank. I'm looking for a good set of headphones that have a great soundstage, are detailed, look good (isn't that important), and are easy to drive...- muckluck

Good Non-isolating Portable Cans
Ok, so far I've looked at Alessandro MS-1s, Grado SR-225s, and Beyerdynamic DT860s. I want a pair of cans that can be easily driven from a portable player, and don't need an amp to sound good. Also, I don't want cans that shut me off from the outside world. Personally I like the blending of...- muckluck

DT880 vs DT 860
I was just wondering if anyone has experience with both of these cans. I really want a pair of Beyer cans, specifically the DT880, and I was wondering how the two compared. The folding design of the DT860 and the lower Impedance are big selling points of the DT860. Now, is the DT860 just a low...- muckluck

Louder = better...?
Just out of curiosity, but when I wear hi-fi equipment outside, people ask if my cans are loud before anything. People swear that louder is better, and I was just wondering if this was the common view on headphones, or just a distinct group of people that happened to live by me. People also...- muckluck

Looking for good rock headphones...
First post! Anyway... I'm purchasing a Cowon A2 for a little personal Christmas present, and I want a headphone that is ideal for rock. I listen to mostly classic rock, but do occasionally listen to Death Metal and occasional punk (if that helps at all..). Also want a pair of headphones...- muckluck
